What Do You Do With An Extra Day?

Tomorrow is February 29! I LOVE February 29th, I guess because it’s unique and only happens once every four years. I’ve always wondered though…

If you’re BORN on February 29th, does that mean you only have a birthday every 4 years? And, if so, how do you keep track of how old you really are?

Just something to think about. If you know the answers lmk!

I had the weirdest dream last night. No, it wasn’t scary. Okay, I’ll tell you. I dreamt I was a contestant on American Idol! Me, Veronica Lodge. Of course, THAT would never happen because I am a professional. I already HAVE a singing career with The Archies. But still…

We never made it to the finals, or even the SEMI-final round. Simon heard me sing during the very first round and halted the competition on the spot, declaring ME the new Idol. Randy said my voice moved him. Ryan said I was the most beautiful contestant to ever grace the Idol stage. And Paula and I went shopping! LOL Isn’t that a scream?!?

So, I gotta know, am I the only one who’s had an American Idol dream?

Poor Reggie

I really was expecting something – you know – spectacular and devious last night outta Reggie. But, alas, we found him sitting in a tree with a camera. How Grade School is that? I mean, he did EXACTLY the same thing in 2nd grade!

I think this whole Riverdale Prankster thing has gotten to him because it appears that Reggie Mantle has lost his touch. He is no longer the King of Pranksters.

It’s okay Reg, we still love ya!

Who’s Your Favorite?

No, I don’t mean Betty or me. :) This is an American Idol question. I know its reallllly early in the season, but I was just wondering if you have a favorite yet? We were all talking about it at lunch today. Lmk

Flowers Galore

With spring approaching, it’s time to get your closet ready for all the fabulous new fashions. So, what’s popping up all over the runways for this upcoming spring season, you ask? Well, one major hit is floral patterns. Flower print dresses, skirts and tops. What a perfect theme for spring, don’t you think?
Another popular pattern making waves is colorful graphic print dresses. These prints are mostly coming in smock style dresses. Now, I am going to go against what I usually say, but since this style is very busy, do not over accessorize. Keep it simple. Perhaps a belt and some stud earrings. If you are toting a purse, make sure it is a solid color. And the same goes with your shoes. Oh, and P.S: Wedge sandals look great with this style!

Know What Time It Is?

Winter has been loooooooong this year. Seems like it’s lasted 3 years. So today, during this totally disgusting germ slideshow in Professor Flutesnoot’s class I decided to throw a party this weekend at my house.

All girls. All night. All fun.

I can hardly wait! I was going to plan it around a theme, then Bets suggested I keep it simple, so I’m just telling everyone to bring their favorite thing – CD, makeup, DVD, nail polish – you know, the essentials.

If you have any suggestions, I’m all ears. It’s time to sweep away those late-winter blahs!

Dear B&V #2

Bets and I thought that today would be a perfect day to answer another one of your questions. This one comes from neko c:

Dear B&V

Can you please give me some advice on this one? I'm having a really stressful time this valentines day. I'm in an all girls band and I think we're pretty good. But we keep getting into fights every session. And since one of our band members has decided to use the band for a project, all we get to do during band time is do her project. We know how important this is to her, and we constantly tell her that, but we need to have some time to ourselves as a band as well. Every session there're constant breakdowns and yelling between two members and it's really frustrating. I always try to tell them this, but they never listen to me. I can only talk unninterrupted when they aren't speakin to eachother. Then, they will listen to me, agree, then get angry again. What should I do?

Thank you!!
luv,
neko c

Bets and I do know something about this one. Band dynamics are tough. Everyone has their own idea of what they want to accomplish. So, we think it would be best if you sat down with everyone – NOT at rehearsal – and talk about your goals as a group. You all should agree on them and then stick to them when you meet to rehearse. If you’re all on the same page going in, that’ll quickly put a stop to someone who wants to shift the focus.

Okay bbs – let us know what YOU think!

Love Ya!

So Last Night…

Girls’ Night Out was sooooo much FUN – but not exactly what I planned. LOL and Ethel and I went to Pop’s for dinner. It wasn’t very crowded because – while I DO love POP’s – that’s not where you usually take your Valentine for a romantic dinner.

Bets

Anyway, we’re sitting there eating and guess who walked in? Reggie! Poor thing never did find a date. We felt sorry for him – he was sitting at the counter all by himself! – so we invited him to eat with us. Of course he did!

Then we headed to the movie. They romantic chick flick was sold out – filled with Valentine couples, I suppose – so we bought tickets for the mindless comedy. (Reg was really excited about it; it was one of those movies only guys laugh at) So, we went in the theater and guess who we found sitting in the back surrounded by a mountain of food from the concession stand? Arch and Jughead!

Jughead looked like a trapped rat for a minute but Ethel PROMISED to be cool, so they sat with us too! Then Midge and Moose arrived. Then Nancy and Chuck – and before I knew it – all our friends were there!

So our Girls’ Night Out turned into a FRIENDS NIGHT OUT – which was just fine with me. So, how did YOUR Valentine’s Day go?

Girls’ Night Out

Hi bbs! You know

Valentine’s Day

is tomorrow. (Everyone knows that, Ron!) And Bets and I are NOT participating this year. (Yeah, we know that too!) So, today Bets and I decided to organize a "Girls’ Night Out" tomorrow for all the girls at RHS who either:

1. Don’t have Valentines this year, or

2. Got a really crummy gift and aren’t speaking to their Valentine

We’re going to Pop’s for dinner, and then to a movie. Right now, it’s just Bets and me and Ethel, but I’m sure our party will get lots bigger by tomorrow night!

Remember, don’t let Cupid dictate how YOUR tomorrow goes. Take charge!

That’s So Sweet!

Hi bbs – you will never guess what happened today at school. Remember I told you I was going shopping with the guys on Saturday to help them get Valentine gifts for their girlfriends? Yeah well, it was a Looooooong day. I actually got a blister on my toe from walking so much – and I wasn’t even wearing heels!

Anyway, today at lunch, a delivery man came into the cafeteria – in front of Mr Bee and everybody – and gave ME, Veronica Lodge, the most adorable stuffed teddy bear I have ever seen! It had a big pink ribbon tied around its neck and there was a card attached, too. It said –

To Ron - the Coolest Girl in Riverdale High.

Thanks for helping us!

From: The Shopping-Challenged Guys at RHS

When I read the card everyone started to cheer – for ME! It made me cry because, you know, this kind of stuff usually only happens to Betty.

This is the best Valentine’s Week I’ve ever had.

After Today –

I may never want to go shopping again! I am headed to Riverdale Mall. Yeah, I know, I go there all the time. But TODAY I am meeting all the poor clueless guys from Riverdale High who can’t figure out what to get their Valentines. We are going shopping. As a group. I am going to help them. UGH! I hope it’s better than that Christmas shopping marathon I went on!

Wish Me Luck.

Help by Moose

Hello. This is Moose and I would like some ideas of what I can get Midge for Valentine’s Day. Last year, I got her some daisies. They were pretty but I accidentally sat on them so they were kinda squished. She didn’t complain, but I think she noticed.

This year, I would like to get her something squish-proof. Veronica says you guys are real good at coming up with ideas.

Thank you.

Moose
