Exciting New Trend Alert!

Veronica_3 Exciting new trend alert, ladies! What new trend has got me all amped up? The deco look! If you never heard of this look, don’t worry! You are probably not alone. Not everyone can have great seats at all the hippest fashion shows, like moi. The deco look, or often called art deco, is a combination of that 1920’s flapper style with today’s modern looks. Only the fashion industry can get away with making something both retro and modern. The industry is known for contradicting itself.
Now, how to achieve this look. First off, skirts with LOTS of pleats, that have a kind of accordion type of look to them, are the staple. And stick to right above the knee or lower. Or you can reuse your summer smock dresses with some tights underneath. For the top half of your outfit go with long fitted polo shirts, pleated tops, or cardigans. This look calls mostly for solid colors or patterns that are made up of geometrical shapes, like circles and squares. The velvet trend I had mentioned in an earlier post definitely fits here. Mary Janes, either flat or high heeled, are the perfect shoe for this style, along with a purse with interwoven patterns, or those geometrical shapes. Similarly shaped jewelry, or ones with big gemstones, is a great added touch. And I really suggest wearing a hat for this one. It just completes the look. Rounded fedoras work great, along with fitted cotton caps – but make sure they are not that hippy knitted type. Those can be cute, but they just won’t work here.
Happy shopping!

XOXO,K!!

Well, Ron i'm Apostolic(Pentecostal) and so a lotta these trends don't really flow real well with us. I have to wear skirts(midcalf) and 3/4 sleeves ALWAYS BELOW ELBOW. and so a shopping trip for us usually means interesting. Which is why we usually wear a lot of layers and most of our mothers (and us) know how to sew and have our own sewing machines (no splits u see) Anyway heres an ex. of our shopping: Cute shirt..necks too low and its short sleeve...NO PROB! Cute shell and a jean jacket or black jacket. 2) Skirt either has gr8 length but its too big in the hips/or it fits in the hips and is too long. EASY! Darts in the waistline of #1 and Cut off #2. 3) can only be done sometimes. Skirt too short-jean. Add colorful print at bottom. Well g2g !

Thats like what the "old school days" looked like huh? I always was a fan of that. But no one wears it in school. All they wear is Aeropostale, AE, Hollister, and Abercrombie and Fitch.

Happy Birthday Kulsoom! What old will you be?

do you know why Mary Janes are called "Mary Janes"???????????????

the only place i shop like that is aero... not abercrombie, not hollister (they both kinda smell bad) and NOT AE! i that store...

Happy Birthday, Dilton!

Umm...I'm not sure about this trend...I'm more into the "tomboy " trend you know like... never mind I'm just a tomboy girl.
