I had lunch today with Midge and Nancy. They called and asked me. So, I thought it was going to be a fun lunch. You know, we’d talk about fashion and boys and shopping. But it wasn’t fun. It was more like “an intervention” – for ME!
OUCH!!!
They asked me if I’d read my comments lately – REALLY read them – for like the last couple of MONTHS! I said, “Of course I have! I read them all the time!” And they said, “Are you stupid? If you’ve read them, WHY are you still acting like this?”
“Like what?” I said.
“Like the most selfish, UN-likeable, hurtful friend on the planet!” they said.
My mouth dropped open. I had NO idea, but then I went home and read my WHOLE blog – the entire thing from Post #1 WITH all your comments. I am embarrassed to admit this, but Midge and Nancy were right, and so were YOU. I’ve been a totally rotten friend to Betty and to Archie (especially to Betty) and the worst part is, I didn’t even realize it!
Time for THIS girl to turn over a new leaf. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some serious apologizing to do.

You know I'm really glad you are going to be nice to Betty and Archie, You have done some pretty mean things to them but sometimes you can be nice (like when you bought Betty's diary at an auction and were going to figure out all her secrets you decided not to!

Took you long enough to figure it out. You ARE going to be apoligizing too Betty and Archie, RIGHT? But I'm glad you've reliazed what you've done. And you should do something for Betty. Like not complaining about camping in the wildness. She's been breaking her back trying to figure out how to make you happy. She's thinking about camping outside the MALL just to keep you happy. She's been so kind. She's never said anything bad about you all though this time.
Good for you, Ron. Although I find it hard to believe that you couldn't tell how mean you were being. I'm proud of you though. Good luck with your new leaf

Ron, you can't change the way you are. Even if you try to change for the better of your friends, it will probably never work. You are who you are, and Archie and Betty love you for that (most of the time). However, it is nice to realize, for a change, that you are hurting someone's feeling. Thank you Midge and Nacy for waking Veronica up. Kudos to you Veronica for actaully recognizing that you are sometimes mean and bratty and a bad friend to Bets and Archie. They deserve a little better.
