Okay, I know what you’re
thinking… “Ronnie, how can you say that?
You wear the very latest EVERYTHING!”
Oh, contraire… I am a
Fashion SETTER, not a Fashion FOLLOWER.
Let me explain: Do NOT
go our and buy a whole outfit by one designer. If you do, you are little more than a mannequin, a walking advertisement
for some clothing company… and who wants to be THAT?!
DO find ONE little thing you LOVE – a belt, a purse, shoes, jeans -
just ONE thing, and then make it
your own! YOU decide how to wear it, when to wear it, and what to wear it
with.
If you follow this simple RONNIE RULE, you will never go to a party and see someone else wearing… (GASP!)… the very same outfit you are!
Ron, I TOTALLY agree with you. That is not good to wear the same thing as everyone else. I mean, that is THEIR style, NOT YOURS.
PS: But don't wear something that is completely dorky!
PSS: I love your blog!
Hey Ronnie, that is so true! One of my friends is completely a follower and I'm trying to tell her to just be herself, but she won't listen! She's always buying stuff from Hollister and other brands like that (which is fine if you really like the stuff) but a lot of the time it's something you can buy at other stores for a much better price! A big part of the reason she buys it is because it has the little seagull (Hollister logo) on the back! I've pretty much given up, but it's actually starting to annoy me now! I know this isn't an advice column or anything, but what do you think I should do?
Soooooo true!!!!! My friends only wear TNA all the time because, well, its TNA. Not that there's anything wrong. Their clothes look awesome. It's just that their whole outfit is TNA. Pants, sweater, t-shirt, undershirt, u name it! So thanks for the tip!!! I'll definitely remember YOUR tips!;)
Mel (SUUUUPER BIG FAN!!!)
P.S. Here's a useful fashion tip: NEVER wear a jeans with a jean jacket. BIGGEST mistake anyone could EVER make. ok. lol. byebyee
That's a fab tip Veronica. Individuality is the key to good fashion.
that's awesome advise ron! i an NOT a follower in ANY way!! i don''t like to be like everybody else! it just seems so boring! when i'm with my friends in the mall i heard a song that i really liked and i started to dance and sing! my friend grabbed me by the arm and pointed to someone....it was one of the "popular girls" and all her friends if you don't be quiet they will see us and make fun of us! she said...i was not happy with that! i like to be different! i yelled SHH!!! they said i refused to listen and kept right on dancing! everyone was looking but i didn't care and of course in the mid of this i'm wearing a totally different outfit! well here's the sad part my so called "friends" they ditched me and never came back.... but you know what? these "popular" girls there now my friends they said they liked me because i am different and ot afraid to stand out from the crowd they are ture friends...this is my story and i hope you read it i'm sorry it took up so much space but i hope it was worth it i lost my friends because i was different and you post up if you have anything to say about this because i want to know what other people say to this story
*Emily*
Nice tip!! I'm not too good at mix and matching but i'll try it sometime! I LOVE your blog! Your going a great job with it!!! LOts of love!
Hey! Sorry to post another comment, but i just wanted to make a comment on Emily's story! Something like that has never happened to me, but that is a great story about not giving into peer pressure! I'm so glad you posted that!
Cac, I think that you should just leave your friend alone. If that is what she wants to do then let her do it, Its not like it is effecting your life,is it?
My really mean ex friend always used to(and still)copie me,it really gets on my nerves. So if you really like something and someone else is trying to copy you then tell them that is your style and you dont want anyone taking it.And never try to copie someone else unless you have asked them first because it is SOOOOOO ANNOYING!!! Retro is coming back, you know like leggings long sweaters, raggy sneaker,That stuff is so cool so if you want to try something different like that then you can go to old clothing thrift stores and find TONS of stuff like that!!It totally rocks.Betty and Veronica,I love your guyses style!!
Dear Ronnie,
i think you are an exilent advice giver. Ever think of going into business with the school newspaper as a advice columnist?
Ron, I think that you are much more lovable than Betty, and I will work hard to boost your "site meter"!
Hey, Ron! Don't listen to them! You are NOT a snob!
Hey Veronica,
I personally think Bets is just a little too sweet. I've always leaned to your side.
Forever and ever,
Veronicafan

Andrea

shopping sister!thanx for the tips!!you rock!!
Great idea, never give in to peer pressure. Not even on other things. Specially with drugs and stuff. so many kids take drugs or smoke because their "friends" pressure them to! Peer pressure can be a good thing though, just make sure they're pressuring u to do the right thing!!
ron ou should get over archie hes to good for you. O and ive read every comic book ever made whith you in it. my brother read them when he was a kid and so did my mom and dad.

I totally agree with you about mixing and matching, but i have a problem i would like you to help me with... i know this is not an advice colomn or anything like that, but this is a really big problem... i'm not old enough to go shopping by myself i mean i'm 12 going on 13but my stuck up exfriend/ friend /asosiate Nancy bought this sweater at wal-mart, and she wore it like so much in grade 6 last year, and my mom bought me the exact same one this summer while i was sleeping over my grandma's house! and it's a bit to late to return or exchange it, and besides i like it and don't want to return it but tell me, what should i do... and also when i went shopping with my mom i bought these really cute boots for the fall/winter and i told my friend about it and she told me that nancy had the axact same pair! but i don't remember her wearing them, so should i just wear them on the first day of fall and say i never knew she had the boots and wear the sweater on the same day, but explain to her that my mom bought it qwith out me there... please give me you'r advice!!
you'r confused friend, Sandra
