I love Riverdale high because it means so much to me. Mr. Weatherbee, Ms. Grundy, coach Clayton and all the rest are great teachers. I always wish I went to Riverdale because they are always doing fun activities and because they all have great friends and know the meaning of friendship.

The Cheeroff By: Meredith F Nancy was pacing back and forth thinking for new cheers. Also remembering Earlier today fighting back and forth with Ron. Of course she had to be captain. Betty and Midge arrived."Hi Nancy!" said Betty strolling in the gym. "So...Thought of a good Cheer?!" said Midge weakley trying to be as serious as she could."I don't know." said nancy." "Ive never got picked for captain so any way, I Don't Know How you make cheers."Said Midge "Your not helping, Midge!" Whimpered Nancy. "We were better of with Ron." said Midge While Betty Pokes her Shoulder into her waist Trying to tell her not to push it." I got it, How about we have a contest where we pick 2 girl's cheers and pick them for our team!" shouted Nancy " Great!" yelled all the girls. " Call all the girls in Cheerleading and tell them to meet us in the gym on Saturday at 9:00am and start the contest." "Cool!" Said Betty " I'm in!" Shouted Midge. The next day everyone was there exept Veronica."Where is she?" groaned Ethel."Im Here!" shouted Veronica Raising her nails slaming the door open."Sorry Im late I had to finish my Mani-peties!" giggled Ron."lets get started" shouted Nancy Clapping her Hands. First up was Veronica strolling up to the front of the line skipping at least 10 girls."A-hem!" Said Ron Warming up."Who's the best on the team of course, not you or you its me! Nor Betty, Midge , or (humph) Nancy. Don't forget we'll beat your team!" Sung Ron.Nancy, Midge and all the other girls started to giggle,gasp,or moan." Um, Ron, Its.. uh..complicatited.. ahem (cough)to uh.."" It was horrible!" Shouted Midge cutting into Nancy."Humph,well i never!" sobbed Ron stomping over to the end of the line behind 58 other anxous girls.Next was Betty smiling walking up to the stage. "Riverdale Heights at your school, we wont only rock but we'll just rule. We make your schools just look like fools!" chanted Betty Happy with her accomplishment. " Woo-hoo!" Screamed Practicly all of the Girls clapping. "That was exellent Betty!"Shouted Nancy. "Thanks." said Betty Blushing and skipping off of the stage.After 3 hours of listening to many cheers she felt tired and it was only 12:00 in the after noon. The next day she Judged the cheers and decided her final pick."Ive decided my pick the luck girls are:..Betty Cooper and Wendy Weatherbee's Cheers. Both girls blushing ran up to Nancy." You girls are going to rehearse you cheers over at the gym and practice for the "Cheer Off" on Wednesday so you have to make up moves too." "Okay!" said Wendy proudly. Sunday at the gym Betty was Rehearsing her cheer to the confused 14 stunned other girls."okay lets go!"said Betty.While she was waving her pom-poms in the air dancing like a proffesinal Cheerleader the girls were just moveing and wiggleing trying to dance like her.After Wendy was chanting and dancing so quick no girl was prepared for the pyramid. Whenever Wendy jumped on the vault. Veronica Didnt make it (also a bad thing is she was one of the people to lift and hold Wendy.)So screaming Frightened wendy toppeled on the ground Breaking her legs."Owwwww!!" shrieked Wendy with pain.All the girls ran over quick to see her." I c-cant do t-the cheer."groaned Wendy."No,no no what about the Cheeroff!?" said Midge."calm down Midge, Come on guys, we can do it 'cause we are fine if we have a fill-in."said Ethel. "It's no use, Im a horrible Cheerleader, if i had never thought of the contest Wendy wouldn't have got hurt." Cryed Nancy. "Woah there Nancy, If you wouldn't have been head cheerleader we would not have made it this far, we can do it, we just have beleive!" said Betty."....You in?" Smiled Betty at Nancy. "Im in!" Said Nancy. While the other girls got in a circle and group hugged,Betty and Nancy hugged individualy.The Cheer offs started and the teams were ahead of them. Luckily the Wendy Pyramid led them to win. The girls Group hugged and screamed endless." We went all this far!" said Nancy. Doing an oncor, the girl cheered wendy's" We do all our cheers alone But that that never stops our team, once in life you just need a good scream!!!" the crowd sang it a second time with them and Danced and Sung. And thats why i love archies they treet them better than just friends!

Why I love riverdale high
Riverdale is such a positive place to be. Its really impossible to explain why I love it. Everyone is friends with everyone. No one EVER feels excluded or unwanted. Even the teachers share a special bond with all their students. Riverdale is asically the ideal school. Sure they hit rough patched along the way, like everyone else, but their spirit and positive attitude is really what makes all the difference.

I looked at Wikipedia but couldn't find anything about the mascot being a racoon. I did find this under "Athletic

The school athletics department includes the physical education teachers and coaches of intermural team sports, track & field, and cheerleading. Their colors are blue and gold, and their mascot is the bulldogs. "

I also ended up finding info on Bob Montana:

"...From 1999 to 2003, his daughter, Lynn Montana, of Meredith, along with her sister, Paige Kuether, managed a web site, Archie Prints, to market prints of their father's artwork. The site featured pages from the diary-sketchbook kept by Montana about life in Haverhill High during the late 1930s. The Bob Montana Papers are in the Special Collections at Syracuse University." Why I love Riverdale? For one, how could I not? Riverdale is such a, what appears to be, small community full of wonderful and uniquely different people. The gang can go and hang out at Pop's what seems like any time of the day, which is completly aweseome! Then, they can all walk to each others houses, which is very convinient. I love Riverdale so much because it is somewhere I wish I could live. I put myself into the stories and feel like a part of your lives. I thank you everyday for making these comic books!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I will love you all 'til the end!

I Love Riverdale high, because the food is always unique. Archie never fails to entertain the faculty, and the girls are always competing for the boys. Its a positive atmosphere, and the teachers are great.

Wow, Hilda, that was really creative, I can imagine no one ever really thought they could write that way. I really do hope you win this one. Good job! :)

Actually, ComicFan, their mascot is a Raccoon. Ocasionally the mascots changes. But their official mascot is a Raccoon. And it is cool that they were based on real people. I know all about it. ;) Due to my Archie-brainyness. Hahaha... anyway--- Pop Tate's Chocklit Shoppe,was based on real-life locations frequented by teenagers in Haverhill, Massachusetts, during the 1930s — Crown Confectionery and the Chocolate Shop on Merrimack Street and the Tuscarora on Winter Street. :) Cool, huh? And Bob Montana went to a high school in Haverhill from 1936 to 1939, and his sketchbook, an illustrated diary of life in Haverhill, was the true origin on Archie and his friends. Montana's daughters once made pages from this sketchbook available online. Several real-life residents of Haverhill became characters in Montana's creation, such as Arnold Daggett, the model for Moose, and Skinny Linehan, Jughead. The name tells it all. Hahaha... :) At a 1989 reunion of Montana's classmates, Daggett said that he recognized himself in one strip "where I was getting kicked out of class." :) :) :) Miss Grundy was inspired by school librarian Elizabeth Tuck, while Haverhill High School principal Earl McLeod was the basis for Mr. Weatherbee. Montana knew the Massachusetts' Brahmin political family, the Lodges, because he had once painted a mural for them; he combined that name with actress Veronica Lake to create the character of Veronica Lodge. Betty was based on Montana's girlfriend in New York. After four years in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, Montana returned in 1946 to launch the Archie newspaper comic strip, which he drew until his death in 1975. Interesting, huh? :) Veronica Lake and Veronica Lodge... close similarity. :) And--- I have to go now---- sigh... I don't feel good right now.

Why I love Riverdale High School:
Riverdale High is really nice. It has great teachers and a great Principal. They're never boring and they teach their students very well while making it fun at the same time. The students are really nice and funny. Just count on Archie and the gang to make you feel at home if your new. You wont have any trouble finding a friend. They also have lots of pride in good 'ol Riverdale high. Well there's really no reason not to be right?

“Riverdale High School Spirit”

Hey guys and gals! Nancy here. This new school year, we’ve managed to put together the best team of cheerleaders in years. Only person missing is Betty but I totally support her. That girl has good track legs, let me tell you.

I’m totally psyched that this year I was elected team captain of the cheerleading squad. What bums me out is that we haven’t had any good cheers to share at teams sports events in years! So, the girls and I put on our thinking caps on and couldn’t come up with anything…until last Thursday.

“Come on, Nancy!” cried out a cheerleader. “What’s the good news!”

“Hold on, Jenny,” I added with a huge smile that I couldn’t keep it any longer. “Veronica isn’t here yet but… okay! I have an idea on how we can get new cheers!”

“It better be good,” said Veronica as she made her grand entrance into the gym and to the bleachers where we were. “The boys are anxiously waiting for us to come up with good cheers for them.”

“That wasn’t very nice,” said another cheerleader.

I waved a hand out to her as to say it was okay. “Girls, I say we hold a contest.”

Everyone stared at me in silence for a moment. “A contest, for what?” gestured Maria.

I was too excited that I blurted it out, “We’ll have a contest open to anyone--- current and former Riverdale High students and even those who don’t come to this school!”

“Like the citizens of Riverdale?” queried Jackie, another cheerleader.

“Yes! The rules are…” I counted my fingers, “one: to write 2 new cheers for this upcoming football and basketball games, and two: for them to write down why they love Riverdale High.”

“Why?” asked Kelly, another cheerleader. I didn’t think she liked my idea.

I tried not to show my discouragement. “Well, I figured if they tell us why they love Riverdale, it could give us some encouragement. We can make copies of it and put them up on bulleting boards around the hallways.”

I then realized Kelly was actually confused. “No, I meant why have a contest that is also open to non-Riverdale residents and former Riverdale High students?”

“Oh.” I smiled and added, “I think it would broaden our chances of getting good and new cheers by including past Riverdale students into this. They have experienced this before and they can really help us out. You never know, they might share their secrets or their insights, their good memories….”

“Or waste their time,” interrupted Linda, the snobbiest cheerleader.

Veronica hugged me and said, “No, I think it is a fabulous idea! Nancy, what would you like us to do to help?”

Maria got up from her seat. “Come on, girls! Where is your team spirit?” The girls looked at one another. “And Nancy has the best ideas! So come on girls, who are we?”

“The Bulldogs!” we all shouted.

“I can’t hear you?” shouted Maria.

We all shouted louder, “The bulldogs!”

“And who are we gonna beat next Friday night?” added Maria, even more excited.

“The Cheetahs!”

“And who is going to support our boys?”

“We are!”

“Say it again girls!” she added.

We shouted louder, “We are!”

So, the girls and I posted the contest in the school web and around school while Veronica submitted it to the town’s newspapers. Even Archie and the boys were amazed at my idea that they cheered us on. I was so happy to see them so excited about it. It all looked like we were gonna make history on Friday night’s basketball game.

It turned out to be a hit. Actually, it was a lot more than we could handle. A lot of people showed up at the school’s football field where we held the contest that we had to get extra help to make more copies of the entry forms and judge the entries. Some people performed the cheers and some were too shy, so they just submitted their cheers on paper.

So, who was the winner? Read on and you’ll see!

It was Friday night in Riverdale High’s gym and everyone was anxious to see the game. It was very intense. We were competing against Fremont High school and some of their past players had gone out to the state’s championship. The boys were even more discouraged by that info until we began to cheer them on.

“The guys look awful!” shouted Kelly, above the noise of people yelling and cheering.

Maria added, “Yeah! Those cheetahs are pounding us! What else can we do to help our boys?”

I was upset myself but I had to get myself together and be strong. “We can’t give up, girls! The boys need our support!“

“How can we help them?“ queried Linda. “All our cheers seem to have no effect on them! What was the point of holding that stupid contest if it’s not going to help? We might as well cheer them out and get it over with!“

“That’s enough!” I cried. Everyone was shocked. I looked firmly at each one of them and added, “Forget them, forget all of them right now and focus on me! We can do this! We are a team and we have to help each other out like sisters! We have the strength, we have the smarts, we can do anything we want to do! And the only one holding us back is ourselves! Now, we have some killer cheers and we are going to cheer them to our boys like we mean it! They are counting on us to show them we have faith in them! Now, what are we gonna do about it?”

They shouted with a smile, “Fight back!”

“And why?” I threw my fist in the air and waved it excitedly.

“To cheer our boys!”

I added proudly, “And why?”

We all yelled enthusiastically, “Because we are the unbeatable Bulldogs!”

We all clapped and cheered. “That’s my girls! Now let’s do this!”

We performed some of our entries’ cheers and we even attempted the pyramid. I was scared to go to the top, but I refused to give my fears another thought that I went on ahead and made it onto Maria’s shoulders. Everyone in the gym cheered louder and by the time I made it back to the ground, I took a glance at the boys and was so happy to see their expressions; their spirits were high and renewed that they played even faster and better than before. They were relentless and determined to win.

“Okay, girls! It’s time to cheer the winner’s cheers!” I added with a grin. We moved closer to the game and faced our boys. “3,4,6,2,8... Who are we going to eliminate?”

The girls shouted enthusiastically, “The Cheetahs! The Cheetahs!”

We were so in the moment that we ignored the cheerleaders of Fremont high and hollered louder than them that it turned out to be a cheer competition… until we took it home!

“Even though cheetahs are the fastest,” I yelled.

The girls followed, “There’s no chance of them making this basket! GO RIVERDALE!”

Everyone was still for the moment. Riverdale needed to score another basket to win, but by the look of it, it seemed impossible. The boys’ opponents had them caged and it was up to Reggie and Moose to make the score. Reggie bounced the ball and glanced at the basket with confidence. He wasn’t fooling me, though. I could tell he was too nervous by the way he kept on bouncing that ball. He usually loves to show off before making a basket. But not this time. Moose was ready to take the ball until I had to stop watching them. “The next cheer!” I thought to myself in a rush.

“Girls, the last cheer--NOW!” I grinned.

They giggled and we got into position. I then whistled and all the boys looked at us. We winked and shouted,

“We love our boys in their jerseys,
If you win this game,
We’ll let you take us to the movies!”

Yup, the boys got their second, third and fourth wind all at once that Moose caught the ball from Reggie, bounced the ball and rammed onto another player and made the basket! RIVERDALE WON-- 32-31!”

Once the announcement was over the guys cheered and congratulated each other and then over to us. “Thanks girls!“ said Archie. “We couldn’t have done it without your cheers!“

“Yeah,“ added Reggie. “So, are you girls really going out with us?“

“Maybe,“ we giggled, arm-in-arm.

Reggie waved a hand in front of Archie and said, “Phew! Smells like a sweaty carrot that has been out in the sun too long… oh, wait. It’s you, Archie.”

Archie frowned, but then he patted Reggie on his shoulder and said, “One thing’s for sure, you don’t smell any nicer than a gym sock.”

“Hey, Nancy,“ blurted my Chuck to change the subject. “When are you going to announce the winner of the cheer contest?“

I looked around and said, “I think now is a good time. Let’s do it, ladies!“

As coach Clayton, coach Kleats, and the boys got everyone in the gym to quiet down, the girls and I faced the Riverdale side of the gym and made some cool moves. I then made a couple of backflips, landed on my feet and cheered excitedly,

“….and who’s the winner of the contest?”

The girls cheered, “They are sweet and they are super!”

“Their cheers were the best!”

“From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank Mr. and Mrs. Cooper! YAY!“ I added with the girls.

Betty and her parents looked at us from the bleachers and Mrs. Cooper cried with joy while Mr. Cooper cuffed his hands together and cheered for us with gratefulness.

Chuck walked over to me and asked, “You picked two winners?”

Well, readers. I sure did. And why? Because they submitted in their entry together and I thought it was the best. Take a look for yourselves. This is what they wrote:

(Alice Cooper) “I thought of this one back when Hal and I were in Riverdale High. During that time when I waited and waited for Hal to ask me out, I thought this up to give him a little push. Who would have known the whole cheerleading squad would end up having dates that weekend with Hal‘s teammates? I sure did.”

“Why you LOVE Riverdale High?”

(Hal Cooper) “Most of our good memories are from our high school years. And if we could, Alice and I would go to RHS all over again.”

(Alice Cooper) “Now that our daughter, Betty, is a Riverdale High student, we are thrilled to have her go to the same school we went to. Hal and I share our knowledge, love, faith, and support to Betty and taught her to share it with others. Riverdale high is the best school there is and the best school towards a good future. And best of all, it’s where true friendships are met and experienced with.”

(Mr. and Mrs. Cooper) “What else can we say? Riverdale High is like a second home.”

Ummm, actually Riverdale's mascot is the bulldog. I didn't know the mascot either until I just found it out at Wikipedia.

You can type the words "Riverdale high's mascot" in the search engine and it will show you the info plus facts about the story of Archie and friends. It's so interesting. Wow, I didn't know they are based on real people (other than the Archies). At least I think so. LOL, I didn't read all of it.

Hmm.... I've never been a cheerleader so this one is a toughy. Oh well, let's say we give it a try, gang?

And Kulsoom, if you like, you can take the time to think up some killer cheers! :D You have excellent experience in cheerleading than I do (since I never tried it, lol.)

Yup, Julia, it's a raccoon. I heard them in the comics... I can't recall which ones, that their mascot is a Raccoon. OH, plus, if you watch that show called: Archie's Weird Mysteries, it shows their mascot, The Raccoon, there too. ;) They are the Riverdale Raccoons. ;)

I would simply LOVE to go to Riverdale, it seems like every student there is nice. There aren't any labels are anything, it sounds like the coolest school! Also, they have THEE coolest contests!

Why I Love Riverdale High

I love Riverdale High because the excitement is always around the corner. Everybody has a sense of humor, and when somebody's in trouble, there's always somebody there to help them. The teachers aren't too harsh, and they always try their best to teach everybody. And everybody tries their best not to fall asleep! The students who attend Riverdale High show their pride and spirit, and love their school no matter what. The students are nice, and there's no other school around who can beat Riverdale High, because it's just tough competition. Archie and the Gang are experts on how to make us all laugh and smile, and how to show our other emotions too. This is why I love Riverdale High. It's difficult to write so little about why I love Riverdale High, because I could write a novel out of this. :)

Why I love Riverdale.
There are several reasons why I love Riverdale. It’s a nice small size. I like small schools better than big schools because I can’t get lost in them. It’s also very clean. They also don’t have any over crowded classes. They don’t have uniforms to deal with and they have a lot of school dances. The teachers seem very nice. The kids there are very friendly and not as cliquey as some of the other schools. There is also no gang violence and very little bullying at Riverdale. In my mind there is no high school I would rather go to than Riverdale.

"UUUUGGGHHH!!!" Nancy sighed. "We'll never find a good cheer! And I thought this contest was a good idea!"
"Hey! Wait! Look at this one!" Ronnie told her. "It's from a Jayanna Carson!" This is what the cheer was.

I love Riverdale High because everything about it is great! The staff is friendly, the students are tons of fun, and at the end of the day, even if you have homework, you feel like a million bucks because of the way everyone's been treating you.
Also, Riverdale High has this uniqueness that sets them apart from everyone else. They have great team spirit and they're all in it together.
