This has got to be the dumbest holiday in the entire year – Groundhog Day. Come on – how do you celebrate that? There are no parades. The post office is open. And WE don’t get out of school! (Although I hear some of you DO.)

I’ll be saving my celebrating for the Super Bowl on Sunday. Now THAT’S a reason to have a holiday! BTW, who do you want to win?

You’re right, Betty. I DID give you that wonky calendar BUT I didn’t buy it. I re-gifted it. (Hey, guys don’t do calendars with pictures of cute puppies on them.) Trouble is, I can’t remember WHO gave it to me.

Actually, now that I think about it, I think it was one of the cute "elves" I worked with at the gift-wrapping booth. We went out a couple of times. What was her name?

I stopped by Patty’s office Saturday while the locksmith was there. I was just, you know, snooping around looking for a clue – ANY clue that would point me in the direction of TRP.

Well, guess what - I found something. I probably shouldn’t post this because TRP will read it, but I can’t help myself. Do you know what I found on the doorknob to Patty’s office? Ketchup. It was just a tiny spot, but I had it analyzed. It’s definitely ketchup. And do you know what I found stuck between the keys of Patty’s computer keyboard? Sesame seeds. Two of them.

I know for a fact that Patty does not eat sesame seeds – she always orders whole wheat bread at Pop’s. And I don’t know how she feels about ketchup.

Today was germ day at school; we have one every year. It happens each February around this time when Mr. Bee hears that some of our neighboring schools have been visited by the flu bug. Mr. Bee hates absenteeism and he hates to be sick, so he has an action plan in place.

We all knew it was germ day when we arrived this morning and saw that can of Lysol in his hand. We walked through clouds of the stuff on our way to class.

Professor Flutesnoot gave his annual germ & virus lecture – complete with slideshow. Then Dilton showed us cultures of germs he was growing taken from common objects found around the school – door handles, cell phones, computers. It was pretty cool but it TOTALLY grossed the girls out. As you can imagine, they didn’t eat much lunch.

We ended the day in Ms. Grundy’s class. She talked about Hand Washing vs. Hand Sanitizer – not really an English subject, but hey, it’s her class.

So, that was my day. May the flu stay far away from YOU this winter.

I read Veronica’s post. It worked. I knew I couldn’t plan anything KEWL for the weekend with the likes of Arch and Moose in the mix. I mean, come on – how can I be brilliant with those 2 tagging along?

I wouldn’t let my guard down just yet if I were you, Ms. Lodge. There is no time limit on Gotchas.

Today I saw something cool. I saw Jughead disappear. It’s true.

At lunch, we (the guys) were talking and I dropped a bit of trivia. I said, “Did you know that on February 29^th, Leap Day, tradition says that women can propose marriage to men?”

Just then Ethel walked by.

I heard a little “poof” and Jughead was gone! I didn’t see him the rest of the day. :)
