My Wish List – Part 2

I wanted you all to see that I’m a very caring person and I always place my self second to the needs of others.

Peace on Earth… or a new 17” screen laptop for me.

Good will to Men… or a new Fender guitar for me.

MONEY any time, anywhere!!! For me!!!

Joy to the World… or a new stereo with MP3 hookup for my car.

Happy New Year for all… or a new car with MP3 hookup for me.

Money and lots of it… once again, for me!!!

A Merry Christmas to all… or lots of gift certificates for me.

See. not only am I caring, I’m flexible as all get out.

Reggie 101

LOL – you guys are TOO much fun! Boy, have I gotten some nasty comments on my Christmas posts. Some of you DO get me; some of you don’t appreciate me very much – and some of you would like me to change all together! (Not gonna happen.)

So, I thought it would be a good time to give you a crash course in the most interesting topic I know – ME.

  1. It is NOT in my nature to be humble. Humble = Boring.

  2. It IS in my nature to talk about my accomplishments. A lot.

  3. Contrary to popular belief, I AM a caring guy – but I don’t like to talk about it. Don’t want to ruin my image.

In short, I am ME – not Carrot Top. LMK if you have any questions.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some Christmas shopping to do.

One More Time…

Just to prove – once again – that I don’t always put myself first, I want to say -

Happy Birthday, Redhead!

I’m A Christmas Elf?

I don’t know how this happened, but SOMEHOW my name got put on a list of volunteers to wrap gifts at Riverdale Mall. It’s for charity, so I’m not gonna back out. But I will NOT wear the elf suit!! I repeat – Reggie Mantle will NOT put on green tights!

Man, I would LOVE to know WHO “volunteered” me for this gig!

So, if any of my fans out there would like to drop by and say “hi”, I will be at Riverdale Mall wrapping gifts with a bunch of goofy looking elves tonight and tomorrow from 5 to 9 pm.

Geesh!!

Reggie Saves Christmas

Man, was our wrapping booth busy last night at the mall. It didn’t start out that way, though. There was another booth not 30 feet away. Those guys were dressed like reindeer and gave away candy canes. Clearly, they were pros. Our “elves” got kinda depressed when the reindeer got all the wrapping business… and there’s nothing more pathetic than a sad elf.

What did I do? I saved the day, as usual. It was easy. I just grabbed a spinet from the piano store, rolled it out to our booth and started singing Christmas songs at the top of lungs. Josh Groban couldn’t have done a better job!

In a matter of minutes, we had so many customers standing in line we stayed an extra hour. Ran out of wrapping paper, too. The elves are picking some more up for tonight.

The lesson here? Well, there is no lesson really, I just wanted to tell you about last night.

Full of Christmas Cheer

P.S. I also sold 2 pianos.

The Answer Is Simple

About this Jughead makeover thing – bad idea. I mean, why would you want more than ONE Jughead Jones running around Riverdale? Duh…

Several people around town have asked me if I am worried about being “redrawn” in my own comic, too. Excuse me while I laugh…

okay, I’m back. The Suits are not going to redraw ME – Reggie Mantle. I mean, come on! Why mess with perfection?!?

Now that THAT’s settled, we can all get back to Christmas; it’s a lot more interesting anyway.

The One. The ONLY.

Interesting Weekend

This has been kind of fun. All this “doing stuff for others”; it’s not so bad. I mean, I’ve actually enjoyed most of it.

A lady heard me singing at the mall last week and called me Saturday. She wanted to book me for a dance… I gave her Ronnie’s info and told her I’m lead singer for a band and Ronnie took care of all the bookings. I haven’t heard from Ronnie yet.

Oh, and I ended up getting dates with one of the elves from the gift wrapping gig AND three of our customers. The funny part was, two of the girls were buying gifts for their boyfriends! How cool is that?

I’ve been asked to come back this week and help wrap gifts again. I’m checking my schedule… I may just do that.

Snow!

It’s SNOWING here! I was beginning to think we were going to have a green Christmas, but now it would appear that I may actually get to break out the snowboard this week.

The Weather Dude said we may get 8” to 13” of the white stuff. We really don’t have big enough hills to ski around Riverdale, but the rolling hills make pretty good snowboarding.

Hey, do any of you ski? Just curious.

I Will Find The Wise Guy

So, I went to school this morning with my little heart full of Christmas joy, and do you know what I found in my locker? Coal. Pounds of it! Ha Ha Ha. Very funny.

I guess the fact that I’ve been singing my lungs out at the mall – FOR CHARITY – for the past 2 weeks completely escaped someone’s attention.

I don’t know who this prankster is, but I WILL find him; the school year isn’t even halfway over yet.

One guy had it worse than me today, though. Jughead. Poor sap came to school and do you know who was waiting for him? Ethel. She was wearing a big wreath made entirely of mistletoe. It was huge.

The point is, both Jughead and I had a less than perfect Friday-before-Christmas at school!

I hope YOURs was better.

Happy Anniversary

Just wanted to wish Betty and Ron a very happy One Year Blog Anniversary. I hear this is proper bloggy etiquette.

(I’m also aware that Christmas is only 3 days away and we are exchanging gifts tomorrow, so a little good deed might just get me an extra dozen cookies from Betty!)

Ho Ho Ho

Redhead’s Gift

Tonight we all find out what the big gift is that Archie has planed for everyone. Gee, I hope he doesn’t blow it. He has been known to do some DUMB things in the past.

Well anyway, I’m taking Little Miss Elf from the gift-wrapping booth. I met while she was wrapping gifts and I was singing Let It Snow. It was love at first sight. So I’ll have a good time no matter how bad Archie bombs.

There’s Still Time…

… to pick up a little something for that forgotten friend or acquaintance. I’ve been expecting Mr. FedEx to pull up at my door any day now with a truck load of goodies, but so far – nothin’. I’m thinking this is one of those years where all I’m gonna get is loads of good wishes.

Joy.

What was your worst Gift…

…and what did you do with it?! I know everyone is talking about how cool Christmas was… Yeah, yeah, yeah… mine was fine.

But what I want to know is what was your worst gift, and what did you do with it?

I’LL GO FIRST!!!

I got these absolutely hideous, revolting, repulsive, most dreadful pair of red and green striped socks EVER, from my Aunty. WHAT WAS SHE THINKING!?!

Needless to say, I re-gifted them to a most deserving person.

The Way Too CLEVER,

Reggie.

P.S. Yeah yeah yeah - you guys passed the spelling test. Took you long enough to catch it!

The Biggest Party of the Year

And I’m the featured attraction. Okay, The Archies are the featured attraction. But let’s be clear – we GOT this gig in the first place because the Mayor’s wife saw ME singing at the mall.

So, the next couple of days we’ll be rehearsing a lot over at Jughead’s. I planned to get a little snowboarding in, but the band comes first. First Night is the best party of the year… and we are gonna shine!

So while I’m cooped up in rehearsals this weekend, you get out there and have some fun for me!The Reg

Is Veronica Slipping?

Veronica Lodge is the most fashion-forward person I know. I think you would all agree. So I’m not too worried that she STILL doesn’t know what we’re going to wear Monday night.

I look good in ANYTHING, and I have a great sense of style, (unlike Arch and Jug, poor slobs.) If she totally flubs up and chooses something hideous, I’ll simply wear something from my own closet… and I’ll look great!

Just trying to take a little pressure off you, Ron.

Our Night To Shine!

The songs are picked, we’ve rehearsed plenty and – thanks to Ron – we’re gonna look GREAT! I am dressed and ready to go!

Just thought I’d take a minute to wish all my fans a very Happy New Year’s Eve. I wish you were here to hear me sing – I’ll be incredible!

See you next year…
