I’m so sick and tired of hearing that Crybaby Archie, moan and groan about cross-country practice.
I mean it’s not even a real sport, all you do is RUN, and no one is even chasing you. Give me a break.
If he had any guts (which he doesn’t) he would go out for football, LIKE ME.

Cross country is so a sport! I want to see you go out there and run 7 miles! Plus it is a proven fact that kids on cross country have high grades, which is definately not true of the football team. I like football too, but cross country is so much better!

coral, i wouldnt pay attenshion, I would say when i run on the track i am in the middle, and when the guys are on the track to maybe a certain day, i feel self-contagious (how ever you spell that!) even though they never say anything i feel like they do even though im not fat im not maybe but slight chunky, I cant even be classified to that maybe just a smidge. but im def. not skinny, sort of almost but anyways!!!!!!!!!!!!
dont let them bother you if it becomes a BIG problem tell your gym teacher!!!!!!

I luv to run,but im not really a cross-country sort of girl.Oh yeah,and coral,I read what those people said about you.I can only tell you one thing:the only reason why those people called you fat,a slow runner and dumb,is because those people feel inscecure themselves.That's what my friends always say.And trytry to pace yourself.The more you dothat,your pace gets quicker.Good luck!

Despite the name RBs are not always about the running (Jerome Bettis, anyone?) Some of 'em are big 'n beefy plowing straight down the line. These 'power' backs play both offense and defense as needed. Depending on the size of your team RBs may sit out defensive plays in leiu of a tight-end/reciever. In this case, your RBs are more focused on speed.
Good luck with try-outs Reg and remember there is no shame in second-string. (I'm saying so just in case, cuz I really hope you'll get to start ^__^)

Coral, I must say THERE IS HOPE. 4 months ago, I was the worst runner in my class. I had absolutely no stamina, I got cramps, and I hated running. The kids didn't tease me, but I wanted to be athletic and flexible, and running was my greatest athletic weakness. I had to do something about it. So, every day, I would run around my house 10 times, with 1 five second break to catch my breath. Later, I increased my laps gradually, with no breaks. I didn't know it then, but I was beginning to get a lot faster. I did plenty more laps in gym class. Now, I do about 16 fast laps a day. I suggest that you set a pace. If you run as fast as you can right away, you'll lose your breath in no time. Trust me, if you try, you CAN be a good runner!
