I’ve Been on Better Picnics

Hi bbs. Bets here. Feelin’ kinda crummy today. You know that picnic we went on yesterday? Yeah well, somehow I managed to get poison ivy!

I haven’t had poison ivy in like 9 years! I forgot how miserable it is. :( Anyone got advice for getting rid of this rash really quick? Pop Tate said I should eat honey from local bees – not the grocery store stuff - so my dad is going to see a beekeeper friend this afternoon. Sounds weird. I hope it works.

P.S. I’m not the only one who had a crummy time at the picnic. I’m sure the gang will be blogging about it.

Oh thats too bad, Betty! I've never gotten poison ivy before, but I think my sisters and my dad have.

bummer :(

yesterday, i went to church, saw Prince Caspian (good movie, but diff from the book so a little disappointing), and then I went back to church and we had a hymn sing (we sang hymns and the pastor gave a brief history on the hymns) and ice cream social

For a home remedy, try applying the crushed leaves of jewelweed (Impatiens capensis). The beauty of this home remedy is that jewelweed is a common weed in damp areas. This "treatment" may very well be growing right in your own backyard!

Hey Bets!

That sucks that u got poison ivy on u.:>((
Well, I haven't gotten poison ivy b4 so I don't know what it feels like but I bet that it's going to feel very itchy. U should dab on some poison ivy curing cream thing or whatever it's called.
Hope ya feel better!

p.s. There's this girl named Ivy at our school and she is such a snob! She acts all show-offy aroung all the cute boyz. She has her own little clique thing and if ur nawt in it, then she thinks that ur a major loser.
Me and my buds secretly call her Poison Ivy. ;>)

Dear Betty,
HELP!!!Lately(past two months)my friends have been leaving me out, making mean comments behind my back, making plans without me, telling the guy who I like that I like him and many MANY other things that would take too long to write!!I really only have one good friend and she's not even in my class!Almost everyone in my grade thinks I'm this big nerd and they are all taking the Mean Girls side! Please Betty, what do I do?????
Desperately seeking advice,
BettyRules

OH! I FEEL SOOOOOO...... SORRY FOR YOU

Awww, I feel so bad for you. I got mosquito bites and they're itchy, but I guess that doesn't compare to your poison ivy LOL. You should see a doctor. I don't think you should listen to Pope Tate.

yeah we didn't do anything, we had to ddo laundry before the week started. oh and did i mention IT WAS RAINING and cold no it was not any fun, and on the radio it was all depressing you know how the vets died in WW2 ahh man it was a crummy day alright.

I'm sorry you had poison ivy. The next time you go on a picnic, always carry an ointment or the insect repellent. Poison ivy can be itchy.

Sorry Betty. It'll work out

use aloe vera cream to get rid of the pain and heat

Put calamine lotion on it.

Try calamine lotion.
What happened to the story contest? The last story was months ago.

Hey Betty! This iz my 1 time checkin ur blog an it ROX! Ive gotn piosen ivy b4 but I dont remeber how 2 get rid of it.But i do hav som tips. Dont take hot showers/baths, the hot water opens ur pores and makes them hurt more bcuz of the piosen so u need 2 take cold showers/baths. even after piosn ivy is rooted out o' th ground, th piosn will still b there, so always bring a special piosn ivy soap wen u go on pik-niks. hope i helped!

that stinks

Hey!

I have no clue how to get rid of poison ivy, I've never gotten it, but hang in there. (Are bugbites similar? I've always wondered that) Anyway, laughter is the best medicine, Here's a joke for you:

"Very strange." Says the doctor, examining a man who had lettuce in his ear.
"Yes it is." Agrees the man. "And that's just the ip of the iceberg!

Hey Betty!

Hang in there!

P.s I don't think Veronica deserves Archie! Even Reggie is to good for her! (Nothing against her of course) But with er money you'd think she could BUY a boyfriend. LOL!

Love,
Bri (aka Peepsthehen)

My science teacher once got poising ivy when she was in the 8th grade, and it was so bad and so repetitive, that now she is immune to poising ivy, and so is my dad. -Kelsey

Hey, BETS! I think you should take showers with cold water. It can be pretty soothing for your skin and might the itchiness a little numb. After a few minutes the itch is not as strong and you will have less temptation to touch it. I hope this helps!
