Hey Betty!
I was feeling really down so I thought I would come peek in on the blog. Do you mind if I unload? I could really use some cheering up. My birthday was Monday. That's not a problem. The problem is that my grandma just remembered today. Okay normally this would be bad, but her birthday is just two days from mine. It makes me feel real low. Any suggestions on ways to cheer myself up?
Ok, favorite authors...hmmm...that's actually hard to say. I love to read.
I agree Carolyn Keene is completely awesome.
Franklin Dixon is too (Hardy Boys).
Nora Roberts and her alter ego JD Robb.
Cornelia Funke.
Agatha Christie (and not just her Hercule Poirot).
Dorothy Gilman (Mrs. Pollifax series).
Dick Francis (mysteries with a horse background).
Margaret Peterson Haddix.
and many many more.

This is just my opinion, but I think any book that you like can be considered quality reading. Any book that makes you laugh, cry, think or one that you just can't put down is good. For some, Anna Karenina is a quality book, while for others, it's Clifford the big red dog. I think it doesn't matter who wrote the book, as long as YOU like it, it's a quality book.

Also, I think her name is Pam Munoz Ryan or sumthing, but she's a good author 2. She wrote Esperansa Rising and Becoming Naomie Leon. They're both really sad stories. And Ella Enchanted and Fairest are really good! They're both books by Gail Carson Levine. And you should read bout Anastasia; its such a sad story, the cartoon version makes it seem so happy though. So Anastasia; the last grand duchess (Russia, 1914) by Carolyn Meyer is also really good. Ellen Raskin wrote the Westing game I think..it's an awesome mystery book. All my friends hav read Twilight and say it's an amazing book, so I'll hav 2 read it also. Obviously, Lemony Snicket is 1 of my favorite authors. I just read Stargirl 4 the second time n it's all about nonconformity in high school(by jerry spinelli) its a gr8 book! - Amal*F

How about Mary Shelley? She wrote one of the most
famous horror stories:Frankenstein. In this story, Victor Frankenstein, the main character, actually created a monster! This story's very exiting, and one of my most favorite stories, too. You can borrow the book from the library, or just sit and read the story on the computer (if you find it on the net!)
