Happy April!

Hi bbs! I wanted to write to you yesterday – it was April Fools, you know. BUT there was a mysterious computer hacker afoot in Riverdale that kept us ALL out of our blogs! You know what I think? I think the old Riverdale Prankster came out of hiding and went on another pranking spree!

Shame on you, Riverdale Prankster!

There is so much to catch up on! Ronnie and I have decided to write animal stories for our fiction project. I am going to write a horse story (thanks Dalton) and Ron is going to write about dogs, specifically Cookie.

I know Ron asked you to vote on horse vs. dog stories on her blog a few days ago. She said the vote was pretty evenly split. Some of you even suggested a story combo – horses AND dogs. I like that idea!

So, if there are ANY horse fans out there, I would like to hear from YOU! Here are some questions I thought of off the top of my head:

Who’s your favorite horse story author?

What’s your favorite horse story?

Do you have a horse?

Or do you collect horse figurines?

Do you ride?

Western or English?

Ever been to a Dude Ranch?

Ever been to/or participated in a horse show?

Wow – that’s almost a Top Ten list! LOL Okay, that’s all the questions for now. Can’t wait to read your answers.

We’re Talkin’ About Horses

Thanks for all the great answers to my horse questions. Keep ‘em comin! Today I thought I would list some of the horse stories I have read; I have a big collection of horse stories and some of them are kinda old.

Black Beauty – I’ve read that one like 8 times and I always wanted to adopt Ginger.

Misty of Chincoteague – There are a bunch of stories about Misty that I really like.

Flip – this is a picture book, the very first horse book my Mom got me. It’s very sweet and I love it.

National Velvet – I’ve read several versions of this one and seen 2 movies too.

Have you read any of these?

Hey, you know it’s April 5th and I just now remembered to say Happy Birthday! How many of you are April birthday bbs?

There are 2 official flowers for the month of April. Can you name one?

(This one’s easy.) April Fools is on what day?

What famous playright was born in April? Hint: His initials are W.S.

What is April’s birthstone?

Quote: April _____ bring May ______.

What sport begins in April?

What American Idol has a birthday April 24th?

April is the official month to “Go Fly A ______.”

Readers celebrate this special week which begins April 21.

Good luck!

Today = Chaos

I don’t know what got into everybody at school today, but it was awful! We don’t get these days too often at Riverdale High – WHEW! – but today was one of them. Seems like the boys were stupid, the girls were crying and nobody was talking!

It all started when Nancy walked in BY HERSELF this morning; we all knew something wasn’t right. Chuck is ALWAYS with her. I guess they had a little fight over the weekend – I never did hear what it was about.

Chuck entered RHS through the gym; he was obviously avoiding her, and that just made Nancy madder. By the time we went to lunch, the boys were siding with Chuck, the girls were siding with Nancy, and Moose and Midge weren’t speaking to each other!

After school, I said bye to Arch as I left, but I heard Reggie say, “Don’t talk to her, Arch. She’s one of them.”

One of what?” I said.

A GIRL.”

Reggie Mantle, that’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever said.”

It was SOOO dumb, I got in my car and left. Now, I can’t get my homework done. I’m getting IMs, text messages and my phone is ringing! This has to stop. I’m gonna call Ronnie. Maybe she’ll know what to do.

I hope YOU had a peaceful angst-free Monday!

Hooray for Mr. Bee!

So, I got to school today and you know what I found? The girls were gathered in little groups on one side of the school and the boys were huddled on the other. Nobody would sit in their assigned seats in class either. It was girls on one side and boys on the other. It was STUPID!

Well, there was NO WAY we could take tests in an atmosphere like that, and I think all the teachers knew it because Mr. Bee called an assembly right before lunch.

He asked Nancy and Chuck to sit in the middle of the gym and he talked to them like he was Dr. Phil! LOL The Bee was incredible!

Turns out, this whole thing started over American Idol! Nancy said she didn’t think any of this year’s contestants were as good as Jordin Sparks. And Chuck said that if Jordon were competing THIS season, she probably wouldn’t win.

And that’s what the big fight was all about!

Can you believe it? For a minute, I thought there was going to be a riot in the gym, because The Great Jordin Sparks Debate started! Then Mr. Bee put a halt to the whole thing. You know how? He said nobody on Idol sang better than The Archies. You know what happened? Everyone cheered! Boy, that Mr. Bee is a diplomat, I’ll give him that.

Good save, Mr. Bee! Tomorrow, we’ll get back to taking those tests! So, how’d YOUR day go?

Happy Tuesday!

Another day closer to Summer Vacation! Let’s see, what’s going on here…

Arch won first place in the 440 last Saturday.

My team took first in the relay.

Reggie’s still being nice to all the girls.

Veronica’s confused.

I ran into Patty at the craft store. She’s taking knitting lessons.

Chuck and Nancy aren’t mad at each other any more.

Mr. Bee has lost 2 pounds on his diet.

Ms. Grundy is planning her annual whale watching expedition.

My mom is planting flowers.

The Archies have no gigs lined up for Spring.

I am working on my horse story. It’s almost halfway done.

Arch has been very sweet lately.

I love Riverdale! I think that’s it at the moment. It’s been pretty peaceful around here… I’m sure that will change soon! LOL

How’s YOUR week goin’?

One of Those Days

My Friday was peachy. Hope yours was too. But the guys in Riverdale had a tough day. Poor Mr. Bee came to school all down-hearted because he gained that 2 pounds he lost. He blamed it on Ms. Beazly’s peanut butter cookies. She made them day before yesterday and he took a dozen or so back to his office.

Then poor Dilton blew up the science lab again right before lunch. The only casualty was Dilton’s ego. I have NO idea what he was working on this time – it’s Top Secret.

Then Jughead got an B- in Gourmet Cooking Class because he made lumpy gravy. Gravy is NOT supposed to have lumps. I told him I’d show him a couple of tricks to make perfect gravy this weekend.

After school, we all went to Pop’s. You know what we found? The front of the restaurant had a big gaping hole in it! Some tourist from Ohio jumped the curb and ran into the Chocklit’ Shoppe with his camper just after the lunch rush. Nobody was hurt, but Pop was understandably very excited.

Oh, I almost forgot. Reggie also had a bad day. You’ll never guess what happened to him. He accidentally dropped his cell phone in the toilet at school! LOL Poor guy. Svenson had to fish it out for him (so his day wasn’t all that pleasant either.) Reg’s phone doesn’t work any more – and even if it did, I wouldn’t want it. Eewwww!

So, how was YOUR Friday? LMK

Bloggy () & ?

Hi bbs! Ronnie and I are having a GREAT time filling in for Patty. We had NO idea she had so much to DO!  Ron and I have been reading comments and wanted to send out a couple of Special Bloggy Hugs to –

Zachlee – hope you got some rest!

Ndrea Mah – we’ll be thinking about you this week!

Brittany – hang in there!

Ron and I also want to thank ALL OUR BBs for the input you’ve been giving us on our book-writing project. You know, there’s a Favorite Author poll up over on the AC website. I noticed that a whopping 52% of those who voted have a favorite OTHER than the 4 authors listed.

So, my question today is –

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE AUTHOR?

Gotta know. Ronnie and I are can’t wait to read your answers. Ronnie says hurry and comment. J

Matters of the Heart

Gotta great question from BettyRules a couple of days ago. Maybe you saw it:
Hi Betty!!!
I still need advice for my guy problem!!!What do I do when my perfect match, the guy of my dreams is taken away from me by my so-called friend???PLEASE HELP!!!I need advice!!I like him so much!
Luv,
BettyRules
I can SO relate! I can't tell you HOW many times this has happened to ME with Archie. You've seen Veronica swoop in and snatch him away from me time and time again. All I can say is, It Ain't Over Til It's Over. NOBODY knows how our story will turn out. And it's way too soon to panic about the guy of YOUR dreams, too! Take a deep breath and CHILL! Have fun, be yourself, and if he has any wits about him, he'll realize what a catch you are!
(I hope Arch is reading this!)

Book Overload!

LOL. I’m kidding. Thanks for ALL the great author recommendations. I was sharing them with Ronnie and Midge and Nancy and some of the other girls at lunch today. Ms. Grundy was standing nearby and overheard our whole conversation. And guess what? We’ve decided to form a book club! (Actually, it was Ms. Grundy’s idea.)

We’ll be reading ALL the books recommended by YOU this summer. I’m so excited about this. We’ve got a stack of books to read and we’re starting with Carolyn Keene! I love her stories, but Ethel hasn’t read them, and neither has Wendy. We’ll read a different book every week, then on Saturday, we’ll meet at Pop’s to discuss it!

It’s not too late to send in more suggestions!

Happy Sunday

Hi bbs! Hope you are having a fun and restful Sunday. Seems like I always get a little tired about this time every school year; I think it’s from all those year-end tests. You have to study so hard and they’re just so BORING!

Ronnie and I stayed up until 2:00a.m. talking and watching movies, and cruising on-line. It was fun but I am a little tired today. After lunch, we went to the mall (because we didn’t go last night) and guess who we ran into?

Patty! She was in the book store. She asked how my horse story was coming along. (It’s almost done, btw. I turn it in next Friday.)

She told me she wants to read it when I’m done. ? Veronica’s dog story is almost done, too. She’s having it illustrated. That’s soooo Veronica.

Back to Patty. I said, “Now that you’re home from your great kayaking/birding weekend, what’s the next great adventure you’re planning?” She just smiled and said, “Can’t tell you yet. It’s a surprise.”

I have NO idea what that means. But I THINK the woman Arch and Jug saw her with must be a travel agent!

What do you think?

I Think I Know the Answer

 Happy Tuesday!

You know, I am NOT a snoop. And I HATE gossip. But, friends check on each other and I – like you – have noticed that Reggie’s blog has been quiet now for like 2 whole WEEKS! That is so NOT Reggie.

He’s been a little quiet at school, and frankly, when I talk to him he seems kinda edgy. In fact, if I didn’t know better, I’d say he was avoiding me. So, I did the most logical thing. I talked to Veronica and SHE talked to him.

It seems Reggie got grounded – as in NO internet – for the remainder of April. I don’t know what he did to make his dad so angry, but that’s why he’s been conspicuously absent.

Just thought you should know. There is only one more day left this month, and then April is over. So I think we can expect to hear from The Reg again shortly.

Still Waitin’

Why does it take teachers Sooooooooo long to grade stuff? I know Ms. Grundy has a lot of stories to read, but I reaaallllllllly would like to know what she thought of my horse story.

In other news, Reggie’s mood was MUCH improved today. And at lunch he came over to my table and actually said “thanks” for putting that post up for him yesterday. Apparently, he was worried his “adoring fans” might think he had abandoned them! LOL

And Mr. Bee announced today that he had something special planned EVERY FRIDAY for the rest of the school year! The first thing is… Oh, I promised Veronica SHE could tell you about this Friday’s surprise. She was Sooooooo excited about it. I think it’ll be fun. I can’t wait to see what Mr. Bee has planned for the rest of May. Stay tuned…
