I didn't even know groundhog day was today! Cool! Yay spring! I will be sad to see winter go though, I LOVED winter, its my fave holiday but it will be so nice to have some sun!

Emmy is right Betty. Groundhog Day is February second, so that would make it 47 days until spring? I was talking to my local librarian about groundhog day today. I told her, "Happy Groundhog Day!" and she said, "I thought it was sometime next week!" I said, "Nope. Tomorrow!" She had no idea!

I agree with you Julia VP. :D I love winter too... and Fall and Spring. Spring is so nice too. The feel of the warm weather when it is not cold but not hot either. Just perfect temperature. Ahhh! And the spring showers. The flowers blooming... real nice.
Okay, off cloud-nine now, lol! :p I'm just not ready to say bye to winter yet.

:( .. okay, I'm back.
Man, I'm disappointed. My siblings and I are so into 2 celebrities but I found out today that they look different than they were before. I mean back then they were sweet, innocent, spirited and humble, and now judging the reality videos I saw, they seem so materialistic...
To be honest here, I used to look up to them. They gave me support, hope and encouragement. Not in person of course but their presence in the public eye. They gave off this positive and "good people" image that would make good role models and we sure need good role models. Now that I saw the real them or the new them, I'm discouraged. I heard many things like "fame and fortune changes people" but my mom also says that "People change because they want too." It's just sad that there can't seem to be good role models in the public eye for us to look up to to help us be strong and be encouraged, to try to be good people, etc. It's so sad and disappointing to see celebrities falling down (morally) one after another into the negative "Hollywood bad life." Don't they resist it? They probably tried but they chose to be that way, or let themselves be influenced into it.
I know there are good people out there but from the looks of it, not in Hollywood. :( But I'm happy that Archie comics hasn't changed their good morals. Thanks guys! And I know we have each other bloggy buddies. :) And we have Betty. She is a good role model. ;)
I don't know if that made sense... sorry for my babbling. I'm glad to be able to vent and share my feelings with my bloggy buddies.
Oh man, now what I'm concerned about is how my sister is gonna take the news. :( And right now she has problems of her own.

Hilda, i know what you mean. I used to LOVE Mary-kate and Ashley. But after (i can't remember the name) one movie i saw what was happening to them and man did i quite like them at all. Same with like every other person out there. When i'm an actress i WON'T be like them and give in to pressure. You do relize that's what happened, right?!?
I didn't even relize it was Goundhog day. Was he scared by his shadow?
I LOVE spring!!!!!!!!! It's my favorite season!

Hilda, I wouldn't look up to celebrities as role models. Especially nowadays. there might be some who are worthy, but it would be too hard to figure out who they are. I say look up to someone who's actually in your life. Your parents, grandparents, a teacher or a youth leader, an older sibling...but someone who's on the right track. The people who are there for you are the one's who deserve your admiration anyway. I personally look up to God.

Are you talking about that movie, "In a New York minute?" I think that's what's called. I have the DVD but I didn't like some stuff like the inappropriate stuff they showed. :( I know this sounds dorky but the only thing I liked about that movie was one of the twin's organizer, lol.
I know a lot about the Entertainment Industry. Not all but a lot. I've heard of lot of bad stuff about show business. It's a cruel business but not only that. It's filled with other horrible stuff like drugs and other bad stuff and they don't seem to care about the consequences. They'd do anything to become an actress or whatever and it's not right. What's more important, your dignity or money?
The career is cool BUT only if it was done the good way. No pressure, no drugs, no corruption, lots of time to learn lines, understanding, etc.
It's a whole different world. **shudder**

I so agree with you. Thanks for that excellent advice. :D I think I gotta train my mind to do that. I want too but I notice I get into celebrities for encouragement. I think I'll try to only enjoy their music and movies for entertainment but not to look up to them as role models. If I want a role model, I have my mom. :D She is my very best friend and mentor too. :D

Hi Maya K.! Groundhog Day is where raised, pampered groundhogs are brought out and if they see their shadow then spring is around the corner, if the groundhog doesn't see its shadow it means there is 6 weeks more winter.
This time of year is when the groundhogs starts coming out of hibernation. If the groundhog sees his shadow, then it is sunny right? If the groundhog doesn't see its shadow then there is no sun. Thus, if the sun is out the groundhog comes out predicting spring because of the sun, and if the groundhog scurries back down his hole because it's cold and there is no sun, then they predict more winter.
