Happy Groundhog Day!!! You know what that means – WINTER is almost over!. SPRING is only 48 Days away! Keep smiling! J Xoxoxoxo Bets
Yeah yeah I know, Groundhog day is February 2nd not the 1st. According to MY calendar – the one I use when I write posts for my blog – Groundhog Day is February 1. Do you know where I got this calendar? From Reggie. He gave it to me after Christmas. He said it was on sale. So, after all the comments I got yesterday, I started checking some of the other dates in this calendar. Do you know how many days February has? 30! And St. Patrick’s Day is March 19th. Oh, and you’ll love this – Independence Day is July 9th! Needless to say, I tossed that calendar in the trash. After this, Reggie, NOBODY is going to believe you’re NOT The Riverdale Prankster! No xoxoxo for YOU buster! Betty
Okay, I MAY have been too harsh on Reggie, but he’s just done sooooooooooooo many sneaky, rotten, low-down things in the past (too many to list here) that I naturally ASSUMED he pranked me – AGAIN! Moving on - Got a comment from W yesterday – I’m sure you all saw it. Now, I usually don’t give advice – especially on matters of the heart because, frankly, I’m not very good at it. (Read my digests to refresh your memory!) But since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner… and I know it’s on all of your minds… I thought I would weigh in with my opinion. PLZ add your opinion in the comments, too, because W would benefit from all the advice we can give! Okay? This is what I think: W, CHILL! Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT, initiate any more conversations (on Facebook or otherwise) with HIM. The fact is, you’ll just look insecure and kinda needy if you keep pursuing him. (Like poor Ethel and Jughead. Yikes!) Talk to other guys – but NOT about HIM – and hang out with your friends. Go have fun and live YOUR life. Your life is NOT about HIM, it’s about YOU. Every time I get into trouble with Archie, it’s because I forgot who I am and started making him the center of MY universe. So, that’s what I have to say about that. Xoxoxoxo Betty
Hi bbs! Well, Valentine’s Day is one week from TODAY, and Archie, Ron and I are still speaking! That’s a record!!! I’m glad you like the Dear B&V idea. Ronnie and I picked our first question to answer last night. We came up with a very unscientific method for choosing: we put all the questions we get in one of my Mom’s old cookie jars and then we pick one. This is the one Ronnie pulled from the jar last night.
Dear B&V,
i am sorda shy.i'm not shy around my friends and family, but in public i never talk. my parents get aggervated and tell me people will think i am a snob if i don't talk. but it's like with my family and friends i can talk, but with other people my mouth is always closed. any tips on how to be more friendlier?
Shy Girl
If you’ve ever been shy, you know this is a toughie! Ronnie has never been shy, so she wasn’t much help on this one. So we called Midge. Believe it or not, when we first met her, she never spoke to anyone! We thought she was stuck up. FINALLY, she told us she was too shy to talk. She said she was afraid that if she said something, then people would start to talk to her, and ask her something she didn’t know the answer to, and then she would look dumb! So, we gave her an assignment: All she had to do was say "Hi" to 3 people when we were out together. She didn’t have to say a whole sentence – just look at people and stop pretending she wasn’t there. So, Shy Girl, you might start with Midge’s assignment. It really worked for her! I mean, look at her now!
Okay bbs, that’s OUR advice; what do YOU have to say???
LUV YA!
B&V
Hey bbs – chaotic morning here. It all started yesterday, when – well, here. This story ran in the Riverdale Gazette this morning. You can read for yourself: The Riverdale Prankster strikes AGAIN! This time in the heart of downtown Riverdale! Archie Comics’ own Fairy Blogmother, Patty, reported that while she was gone to a bowling tournament in Midvale, SOMEONE broke into her office and removed the posts scheduled for yesterday. Not all of the posts were tampered with, she reports. Only the ones involving Jughead Jone’s birthday. The story goes on, but it’s just boring newspapery stuff. The point is, the post I wrote for Jug, and that Patty posted, was deleted! I talked to Arch and Ronnie – THEY wrote birthday posts, too. Even Reggie wrote one! They’re ALL gone!!! Poor Juggie. We had a big party for him last night at Pop’s and he had a really great time (ate 5 hamburgers! I counted!) But – thanks to TRP - he missed all the online greetings from you. (Except Duke and Pureheart! Thanks Duke! Thanks, PH – you ARE Powerful!) Looks like the whole TOWN’S gonna be trying to figure out WHO The Riverdale Prankster is now! Xoxoxoxo Betty P.S. Patty put up a Happy Belated Birthday Post over on A&J’s blog if you’d like to send him birthday wishes!
Happy Saturday! Today, I was at Pop’s having breakfast with Patty. (She STILL doesn’t know WHO sneaked into her office and deleted Jughead’s Happy Birthday posts.) Anyway, while we were there, Ethel came in. I think she was looking for Jughead. She was headed over to the salon to get her nails done for Valentine’s Week. Yup, she’s getting little Jughead faces put on them, alternating with pink hearts. Okay, I’ve NEVER put little Archie faces on MY nails. Ever. (Probably because I never thought of it.) Today, I am going to make a triple, triple batch of heart shaped Valentine cookies for all my friends. That’s what I’m going to give everyone this year. Icing them is my favorite part. :) Ronnie’s at the mall today. She’s already sent me like 9 messages. She didn’t sound very happy. LOL What is it about boys and Valentine’s Day? Xoxoxoxo Betty
It’s Here! Valentine’s Week! Yeah, I checked my calendar (my new one) to make sure I had the dates right. Okay, it’s an exciting week around town. I’m sooooo glad Ronnie and I are friends this year. :) So, I have a couple of Valentine questions for you today. Answer any or all of them. Here goes: How do you rate Valentine’s Day on a scale of 1 (Hate it) to 10 (It’s the best holiday ever)? Have you ever received a Valentine from someone that totally surprised you? Have you ever gotten a Valentine from somebody you didn’t want to get one from? (Eewwww) What did you do? Do you like Chocolate? And, if yes, what’s your favorite? What about those little candy hearts with sayings on them… Do you like those? Is there someone you really really really hope to get a Valentine from this year? I hope you have fun with these. Can’t wait to read your answers. Xoxoxoxo Betty

SPRING! Now that Valentine’s Day is over, I can’t wait until Spring. I made a Top Ten list of some of the things I am looking forward to this year. No more snow Baby birds Spring flowers Trees budding out Peeps. (I saw some at the store today. Yum!) Easter The days are getting longer Pastel colors Everything looks NEW again Spring Vacation! Okay, that’s my list. Your turn! Xoxoxoxo Betty
Presidents Day! I may be the only person online in Riverdale at the moment. It’s a pretty day here and everyone else is out doing… Presidents Day stuff. I went downtown a while ago and saw Jug at Pop’s. Arch is helping his dad take Christmas lights off the roof. And Ronnie is at the mall. Again. I was there for awhile but, I mean, how long can you stay at the mall?
I came home to tidy up my scrapbooking corner and see what I’m running low on. Then, I’m off to the craft store. So, what are YOU doing today?

Hi bbs! Hope your week is going well. You know Ronnie is throwing a “Girls Only Party” at her house Friday night. It’s gonna be great! That’s what we were all talking about at school… well, Ronnie’s party and American Idol. Is there anything else? LOL
So, Reggie was kinda hangin’ around while we talked. You know… eavesdropping. And then later I saw him talking to Dilton, and Arch and Chuck and Jughead and Moose. Now that in itself is not unusual because Reggie talks all the time, but it was the WAY he was talking to them - like it was Top Secret or something.
I may be reading too much into this, but I think that dear, sweet Reggie might be up to something…
If I’m way off base, lmk.

You remember I told you I thought the guys are up to something? Yeah well, I read that lame post Archie wrote yesterday – the one about the guys having plans this weekend – and now I’m sure of it.
FYI: “Some other stuff Reggie wants to do” translates to “Let’s crash the girls’ party!”
Memo to Reggie: Go right ahead and try. We’ll be ready for you.

Last night was soooooo much fun! Ronnie throws THE BEST parties on the planet, so I can’t really blame the guys for wanting to be included.
We did check up on them – just to make sure they DID go to that Sci-fi movie marathon Archie mentioned. They did. That thing didn’t end until 1 a.m. so we went on back to Ronnie’s.
Around 3:30 we were sitting around talking about – you know – girl stuff, when Ronnie’s little dog, Cookie, started to bark at the window. Next thing we knew, the lights came on outside and lit up the Lodge Mansion like it was Christmas! We ran to the window. There, outside Ronnie’s window, perched in Mr. Lodge’s tree sat Reggie. With a camera. We saw the other guys too… running for their cars.
What did we do? Grabbed our cell phones and took pictures of Reggie – caught red-handed! LOL You should have seen the look on his face! By Monday, everyone at Riverdale High will have seen these photos.
So, how did you spend YOUR Friday night?

And it’s a good one! Winter is ALMOST over, but it has been a looooong one – at least here in Riverdale. We’ve all been indoors A LOT and after being cooped up several months, you kinda run out of things to do. I mean, there’s only so many times a girl can arrange her sock drawer! Right? So, here’s Phemy’s question. I know you’ll come up with some great suggestions!
Dear B&V,
GEE, DON'T HAVe MUCH TO DO.
BETS OR ANYONE PLS SUGGEST A FUN INDOOR ACTIVITY OR GAME.IT'S TOO COLD OUTSIDE. - Phemy
Hang on, Phemy. Your BBs are comin’ to the rescue!

Today was a good day at school (as opposed to the string of ho-hum days we usually get in February) and it was due mostly to Reggie. EVERYBODY was talking about Veronica’s party and about Reggie getting caught up in that tree. LOL He’s NEVER gonna live this one down – there’s even talk about including one of those pictures we got in the year book.
I gotta give him credit; Reggie took all the ribbing like a champ. He’s a really good sport – most of the time.
So, what I want to know is this: Have YOU ever gone to a party that didn’t turn out like you expected? Was it funny? Or scary? Or boring? Or did someone show up that totally turned it into something FUN… like Reggie did?
That’s my question. Thought it would be fun to talk about something that’s not – you know – SCHOOL.

Hi bbs! Cheryl Blossom’s #1 Fan wrote a long comment yesterday – did you see it? Anyway she was having a really bad day! :) I TRULY dislike bad days; I haven’t had too many of them so far this year. But when one happens, I call Ronnie right away… unless she is the reason I’m in a bad mood. Then I go talk to Midge. So, the question is:
How do YOU turn around a really bad day?
Do you just give into it and get in a bad mood?
Do you ride it out and hope tomorrow is better?
Do you realize you’re in the middle of a bad day, and do something about it? And if you DO something, what do you DO?
Inquiring minds want to know!
