Winter Is…

So, I was reading through the comments again (I love to read them J) and I saw this one from Hippy Dudet:

"Betty, How is it like to have winter? I have never experienced winter before. What do you do then?"

Okay, all my Cold Weather BBs – this is your assignment: Tell HD (and all our other Warm Weather BBs) something about winter where YOU live!

I’ll start: Dear HD: I love winter in Riverdale because it’s totally different than summer. The lake freezes solid, the trees are bare (because they’re resting) and we don’t get rain – we get pretty white snow.

Okay, YOUR TURN!!!

Sabrina:

Winter in OK. is dry and cold!! We hardly ever get snow and when we do it comes with ice, ice, and ice!!! About every three years we have a good pretty snow. When there is no ice or snow on the ground, it is just cold with bone-chilling winds. Spring is usually more enjoyable in OK. Hope this helps =)

katy:

I like the winter. I live in the midwest, so I get LOTS of snow, ice, and cold;D Last year was great for snowboarding and sleding. Hippy Dudet, my absolute favorite part of winter is on a clear snowing night, just looking up into the sky as the snowflakes fall down, shimmering and glinting, catching any light and then swirling off to the ground. My brother's fav. part of winter is pelting me with snowballs. It's exhilarating to get hit with a snowball! The exitement of the chase pumps adrenaline through you, and you soon return fire. I enjoy all seasons and winter is no exeption;D Hope I helped some,

xxooxx

Hey Hp,
Our winters arent that great it rains a lot here in Vancouver. Sometimes it pours for days straight. The odd time it snows it only lasts a few days. Hey we may not have a great winter but at least we have something great to look forward to................Spring.

drummergirl:

We don't really have much winter here in Texas. But we do have rain and a lot, lot of wind here, in both places that I live.

noname:

Aurora:

Dear Hippy Dudet and all the other warm weathered people out there

My favorite part of winter is the snow. Snow happens when the temperature is below freezing that the water vapor in the sky condenses directly into a solid and falls to earth in little snow flakes. I love to take my sled and go sledding down hill in the park when there is snow everywhere. Also snowball fights are nice too. To make a sowball you have to pick up some snow and try to mold it into a ball. It`s called a snowball fight because you try to throw the snowballs at another person and dodge the ones that are being thrown at you.

Bu -- Bye ?

pearlgirl:

Winter in VA is just blah. No snow, no nothing!!! Just cold, wind, and crazy weather. Right now, it's like spring outside, and two weeks ago it was in the 20's. Go figure.

Caitlin:

megan:

well i live in canada and here it's really cold, but it's so nice because you get to drink hot chocolate, warm up around the fire, go ice-skating, and have snowball fights!!

Hilda:

It doesn't snow where I live (shucks!) but we do have a great view of the mountains. In the winter, it just gets freezing cold here and it rains too which is my favorite! :)

Caitlin:

Okay it is great living in somewhere where it's never lower than 70 degrees or higher than 90 degrees but It does get boring.I really wan't to see snow! Can't wait till my trip to Pennsylvania .......

Maddie:

I live in Northern Quebec, in Canada, and it is freezing! We always have a least 2 feet of snow, and it's usually at least -10--20. We can skate, ski, toboggan, snow shoe, ALL the time hen once were super cld, we can go inside for hot chocolate and sit around a warm fire. I also lve watching the snow fal from by bed room window. It is like watching falling lace. I can't imagine a winter without snow.

Maddie

Hippy Dudet:

Thanks alot now i know how it feels like to have winter hearing all these thing makes my teeth chatter. I am a Maldivian living in Singapore so i have never experienced winter only summer all year although i have read alot of wonderful stories on winter. Does anyone know where is the Maldives

Jasmine:

Um,winter here is mostly rain or hail.Hail is not at all like snow.We don't have snow where I live.Anyhow,it is freezing and you usually have to wear extra layers of clothes! That's how cold it is!I think the rain has stopped(for now)Hail is little pieces of ice that fall from the sky.You could get hurt if one bopped you in the head.We don't usually get hail here.Only rain. The last time it hailed here I was in third grade. So,that's about it.Can you tell us what you experience?
~Jasmine~

Dejai:

SnoBunnie:

Ok I live in NB AKA Canada!!!! And it GETS SO COLD you can't stand it sometimes!! And the school districts are so crazy once it was-37? Celcius but they didn't cancel school b/c it had to be -40? to cancel school! ARRRGHHHHHH!
=-( WE ALL FOZE OURS HEADS OFF! Grrrr. LOL

ronniefan:

winter in South Dakota like totally rocks your socks off!!! Sledding down hospitol hill is such a blast with my cousin when we go down in hte saucer

Sona:

I live in Canada too, no igloos in the winter, but it still gets cold. Usually we have about 20-30cm of snow on the ground, but a few years ago we had a storm that dropped over a meter of snow into the province. It may not sound like much fun to you, but school was cancelled for two weeks! That is deffinitly the best part about winter, snow days! Then you have a free day to do anything, from sledding to building forts or just getting into a snowball fight. I love the snow, except around mid-february, when it kind of gets deppressing because it's all turning into slush. Oh well, we're not there yet!
