One of my favorite things in the whole wide world is to play with The Archies – and we get to play FOR THE ENTIRE TOWN Monday Night!!!! Woo Hoo!!!
I gotta tell ya, I’m a little nervous though. I mean, we haven’t practiced ONCE since the last time we played. Seriously – there’s dust on my tambourine! And we’re not just playing for our friends at school; this is a very big deal!
I’m supposed to be choosing music with Reggie. Yeah right – everything he picked has a solo in it - for HIM! LOL (Oh well, at least he’s enthusiastic.)
So what exactly does one play for New Year’s Eve? Christmas music? Nope. Too late for that (even though I’m still humming Christmas songs like crazy!) Gotta think of some songs quick – we’re rehearsing TONIGHT! And all day tomorrow. And all day Monday… right up until it’s time to go play!
Hey, if you know any good songs we should do, LMK…
Thanks!

Wow, seems like this year's been the best Christmas. :D I mean, It looked like a lot of people were looking forward to Christmas this year than any other. At least where we live, lol.
For new years music? Hmm, I guess any song you like, Betty. On tv, I remember that when celebrities sing live for the countdown of the new year, they sing any song. I think? :D

Well, there's always Auld Lang Syne, but that's a gimme. I've got another one in mind. It's kind of old, like from 1969, but I love it. It's called "Sugar, Sugar."

I can't wait for the New Year it's going to be great!!!
As for the song why don't you create your own song about the New Year? You could sing about new things like if you're moving to a NEW house or something like that.
You could sing this song in High School Musical called Start of something new?
You could changed the lyrics a bit like this:
This is the start of a new year it's to make new friends. Time to sing and dance with an awesome new twist on life.
Cool or what? Have a great New Year Betty!!!

Well, of course you should sing "Sugar Sugar!"
But there's another song you should sing, from the early 80's. I guarantee you've never heard of it: "Walking Into Sunshine," by this U.K. funk group, Central Line. Now that's what I call groovy!

Well, the way I see it, for a new years gig you'd want to play songs that are upbeat and happy. You know, HAPPY new year and stuff. "Auld Lang Syne", 'cause it's a traditional new years song(you could sing it at the strike of midnight). And "You Can't Stop The Beat", it really gets you danceing and it's such a fun song. if you want something a bit romantic, you could always play "You Are The Music In Me". See, choices :).
