TAKE YOUR FAVORITE ARCHIE COMICS EVERYWHERE YOU GO WITH DIGITAL COMICS FOR PSP!

Sony Computer Entertainment America recently announced the digital reader for PSP (PlayStation Portable), a new Play Station Network service that will allow PSP owners to access a range of media on their PSP. The digital reader service will be launched with Digital Comics this December, putting PSP owners in control of a huge library of Digital Comics.

Archie Comics digital publishing partner iVerse Media will be adapting Archie Comics to fit this new digital medium. This is not a re-purposing of the material already available. These will be all new images prepared in Sony's proprietary system. Instead of viewing comics frame by frame, the PSP will bring the full page to the users who will be able to move around the page using the PSP controller. When the system is up and running, you will be able to pick up Archie Comics at any Wi-Fi hotspot.

According to iVerse's Michael Murphy "We are working on reformatting the Archie Comics in our digital library into the new PSP format. We will have all the Archie titles in our library available at the PlayStation Store when the comic store is launched in December.

Archie Comics co-CEO Jon Goldwater stated "We are excited to be part of Play Station's Digital Comics launch. Archie Comics was part of the launch of the Direct Market and we are always looking for new and innovative ways to get Archie Comics into the hands of our fans."

The Archie Comics line of comic books is one of the most successful, longest running lines in the history of the comic industry. Archie Comics are favorite reading of young people and young at heart adults. They are also published in nearly a dozen different foreign languages and distributed all over the world. Archie Comics has not only spawned characters that have been successfully exploited in comics, but characters whose popularity has spilled over into other media and who have become part of popular culture. In addition to comic books, ARCHIE has found success on television, radio and in the music industry. SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH has also become a major television star with two animated series and a live action network sitcom. JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS have also enjoyed success beyond comics, with an animated series and a recording career, and a major motion picture. The characters of Archie Comics have also found success on the Internet, at www.archiecomics.com

ARCHIE & FRIENDS #137
PART ONE OF A TWO-PART STORY THAT REINTRODUCES SOME OF THE MOST MEMORABLE CHARACTERS ARCHIE EVER PUBLISHED!
"Cosmic Cosmosis Part One": Working at the Pep Comics shop to get a discount on comics and a place to store his collection, Chuck is visited by his friends as he bags and boards. Suddenly, glowing meteors from the MLJ Nebula rain down in Riverdale, including one that crashes into the shop and morphs into a door to other dimensions! This cosmic portal leads to a world that Chuck, Archie and his friends have only ever seen in comics... a world of talking ducks and bears, super-powered heroes and oddball beings from other planets. It doesn't take them long to realize they are in the presence of a veritable "who's who" of some of the greatest comic book characters ever published by Archie and its earlier incarnation, MLJ Comics: Captain Sprocket, Cosmo the Merry Martian, Squoimy the Woim, Gloomy Gus, Judge Owl, Ginger, Suzie and more! The trouble is, now that the "fantasy world" has invaded the "real world," the "fictional" characters seek as much a taste of reality as possible: Wilbur and Seymour want to meet "real" girls to date, Pat the Brat realizes there's a whole new potential audience to pull pranks on, Cubby the Bear wants to see how earth bears live, and more. On top of it all, Super Duck and Reggie get into a no-holds-barred shouting match! Realizing the veritable "Pandora's Box" situation they're in, Archie decides it would best for the comic book characters to go back through the portal to return to their own worlds... but the characters have other plans. Namely, they plan to stay indefinitely!

ARCHIE NEW LOOK SERIES VOLUME 3: MOOSE & MIDGE - BREAKUP BLUES
It's the third installment in Archie's dynamic "New Look" series! For years, Archie fans the world over wondered what their favorite Riverdale teens would look like if rendered in a realistic style, and in 2007, Archie Comics answered the question with the ground-breaking, pulse-pounding, media-grabbing story: "Betty & Veronica: Bad Boy Trouble!" The success of that story prompted them to create an entire "New Look" series, continuing with "Jughead: The Matchmakers!" Now, Archie Comics reprints "Moose & Midge: Breakup Blues" from PALS 'N GALS DOUBLE DIGEST #125-128. When Midge decides to go on a date with Reggie Mantle behind Moose's back, the relationship dissolves before their friends' very eyes! Can Betty, Archie and Veronica help the two former lovebirds see the light and rekindle the flame between them? You'll never guess who comes to the rescue in this captivating story, brought to you by "New Look" scribe Melanie J. Morgan and masterfully penciled in the realistic style by veteran artist Tod Smith, with inks from journeyman talent Al Milgrom. Let's just hope Riverdale can survive the epic rift!

THIS OCTOBER GET A DOUBLE DOSE OF "NEW LOOK" STORIES AS ONE SAGA ENDS, AND ANOTHER CONTINUES!

Back in the spring of 2007, the world of Archie Comics was rocked by the publication of BETTY & VERONICA DOUBLE DIGEST #151, featuring the first installment of "Bad Boy Trouble," an epic tale that ran through issue #154 and found Riverdale's favorite teens rendered in a realistic style!

The "New Look" inspired months and months of debate and media coverage... and was so intriguing to fans that it led to further "New Look" sagas, including Jughead dealing with a bunch of "Matchmakers" in JUGHEAD'S DOUBLE DIGEST #139-142, and Moose and Midge's tried-and-true romance put to the test in "Breakup Blues," chronicled in PALS 'N' GALS DOUBLE DIGEST #125-128. The "New Look" then returned to its roots, with the "My Father's Betrayal" story in the pages of BETTY & VERONICA DOUBLE DIGEST. Pitting Veronica against her father in a town-wide debate of environmental proportions, it was one of the most explosive "New Look" stories ever!

"New Look" fans were recently treated to another classic-in-the-making in the pages of ARCHIE'S DOUBLE DIGEST, as Archie got the news of his father's promotion... and with it, the family's move to another state. Will all their friends have to say "Goodbye Forever?" The saga comes to its thrilling conclusion this October in issue #203.

Meanwhile, over in PALS 'N' GALS DOUBLE DIGEST, Reggie continues to get the "New Look" treatment in a story that shows new levels to his personality... and plenty of old ones, too! What will happen when Reggie experiences "A Funny Kind of Love?" It's a double dose of "reality pie," served up in grand Archie Comics fashion!

ARCHIE'S DOUBLE DIGEST #203
THE THRILLING CONCLUSION TO THE LATEST, POIGNANT "NEW LOOK" TALE!
"Goodbye Forever Part Four": Archie's dad's promotion requires the Andrews to move out of town... and all of Archie's friends are distraught to see him go! But a fortuitous trip to a hamburger joint in their new home town seems eerily like Pop Tate's... right down to the teens who hang out there! This slice of reality pie has Archie and his family thinking... is this move the right move? Will they tough it out and try out life in a new town after all, or reconsider and move back to Riverdale? It's the most poignant "New Look" story yet , rendered in the "realistic" art style that made Betty and Veronica's "Bad Boy Trouble" and "My Father's Betrayal," Jughead's "Matchmakers," and Moose and Midge's "Break-up Blues" some of the most-talked about Archie stories in recent years! Multiple award-winning and -nominated artist Norm Breyfogle brings his fine-tuned talents to this heart-tugging tale, with "New Look" scribe Melanie J. Morgan.

DON'T MISS PART TWO OF THE LATEST "NEW LOOK" SAGA THAT TRANSFORMS REGGIE FROM WISE GUY TO ROMEO!
"A Funny Kind of Love Part Two": Bernadette Brownlee is the new girl in school... and not only is she gorgeous and intelligent, but she laughs at Reggie's jokes, too! But Reggie's goal is to become a professional comedian, and while Bernadette finds his class-clowning cute, she has no love for stand-up comics. Furthermore, Bernadette wants to be President of the United States, but Reggie has little regard for politicians. Can Cupid's arrow slice through their differences... and what about Dilton and Archie, who have also caught Bernadette's eye? It's the most unexpected "New Look" story yet, rendered in the "realistic" art style that made Betty and Veronica's "Bad Boy Trouble" and "My Father's Betrayal," Jughead's "Matchmakers," Moose and Midge's "Break-up Blues," and Archie and his friend's "Goodbye Forever" some of the most talked-about Archie stories in recent years!

The eternal love triangle is the cornerstone of Archie Comics for over 65 years--and the bane of Archie Andrews' existence!  In fact, over the years it has not only defined the Betty/Archie/Veronica relationship, but has even threatened to dismantle it a time or 20.

In fact, we'll even go so far as to call it the ARCHIE STORY OF THE CENTURY.  With a title like   "Archie Gets Married Part 1: The Proposal," how could we call it anything else?!

Could it be true?  Has Archie finally decided to take the plunge and propose to one of comics' favorite girls?  It sure looks that way!  Earlier this year readers got a chance to relive "Freshman Year" with the famous teens of Riverdale High.  Now make way for this special story that takes a look at Archie and his friends after they graduate college!  What careers will they seek?  Will the friends stay in Riverdale or disperse?  What would lead Archie to have marriage on his mind?  And who would he choose Veronica or Betty?  How will Betty react?  How will Veronica react?  Can Archie shake off his klutzy past and hold down a steady job... for more than a month?  One thing is certain: this will be the biggest Archie Comics story ever!

Acclaimed superhero movie producer Michael Uslan draws upon his lifelong love of Archie comic books to write this very special tale, rendered by legendary Archie Comics artist Stan Goldberg!  The Archie story of the century begins here... don't miss it!

THE RED CIRCLE DEBUTS THIS WEEK!

The Hangman was one of the Golden Age greats from Archie Comics. Debuting in July of 1941, The Hangman presented several firsts in comic book history, including the first super hero brothers and the first death of a super hero. The Hangman had been featured in four different titles at Archie Comics including "Pep Comics", "Black Hood Comics", "Special Comics" and "Hangman Comics". Archie Comics is pleased to announce that DC Comics will be releasing a new Hangman comic this Wednesday with a script by veteran Hollywood writer J. Michel Strackzynski ("Babylon 5", "Changeling"). Archie Comics is thrilled that DC Comics has brought this classic hero to the present day when The Hangman takes a different and powerful journey into the DC Universe.

THE RED CIRCLE: THE HANGMAN #1
The Civil War claimed many lives but one of those lives still hasn't ended! Union doctor Robert Dickering found himself on the wrong side of the battle lines, and despite his heroic treatment of a fallen enemy soldier, he also found himself on the wrong end of a noose! But a shadowy power stepped forth in the twilit moments between life and death and offered him a deal he couldn't refuse: to forever roam the Earth, saving the lives of innocents condemned like him or hastening the deaths of the guilty! But in taking the seemingly righteous mission of The Hangman, has he accepted God's work? Or has he become the vengeful fist of the Devil?

MICHAEL USLAN TO SCRIPT PUREHEART THE POWERFUL FOR ARCHIE COMICS!

Archie Comics made headline news this summer when it was announced that Michael Uslan (Executive Producer of "The Dark Knight", "Batman Begins") would be scripting "Archie marries Veronica"! The story was covered in front pages of newspapers around the word, and was featured in television segments from The Rachel Maddow Show, the Today Show, The View and Regis & Kelly to name just a few! Both David Letterman and Jay Leno included the Archie and Veronica wedding in their monologues!

Early next year Archie Comics and Michael Uslan will will begin their next exciting project together with the re-imagining of Pureheart the Powerful (Archie as a Superhero), in a series of 5 specials.

Michael Uslan explains "We're not just talking ONE super-hero here! Archie will be joined by Betty as Superteen, Jughead as Captain Hero, Reggie as Evilheart, Jr., and wait'll you see the super-versions of Veronica, Dilton and Moose! Surprises galore are just ahead!"

Michael Uslan continues "Pureheart and Pureheart's Emergency Patrol will debut in a series of five one-shot comic books that bring back to life the five historic super-hero titles that launched The Archie Comics, originally known as MLJ Comics, back in the Golden Age of the 1930's and 40's:"

This is a very exciting launch for Archie Comics that represents both the company's heritage and the company's future. This project will have many twists, turns and surprises, demonstrating why Archie Comics are Cooler than Ever!

PEP COMICS introduced the world to the first red, white and blue patriotic American super-hero, The Shield (before that other guy who CARRIES a shield came along) and then in landmark issue #22 introduced the world to Archie, himself, in December 1941, a date that will live in infamy and hilarity. PEP COMICS was to The Archie Comics Group what DETECTIVE COMICS is to DC... its flagship title!

JACKPOT COMICS brought the world the adventures of Archie on the heels of his debut in PEP but also gave us many of the MLJ super-heroes of World War II. When JACKPOT returns in 2010, it's title will take on brand new significance that will shock today's readers! Stay tuned!

BLUE RIBBON COMICS transitioned MLJ from publishing pulp magazines to comic books in the late 1930's. The home to many super-heroes, it was briefly revived some years back as a special showcase for the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, and now returns to the Archie Comics line-up!

ZIP COMICS starred Steel Sterling, The Man of Steel (until another super-hero borrowed the latter moniker) and other Golden Age greats in an era where comic books had such cool titles as ACTION, SPEED, FLASH, WHIZ, and WOW! In 2010, it becomes a new home for a new generation of super-speedy super-heroes.

TOP-NOTCH LAUGH COMICS featured everyone from The Black Hood to Jughead over the years as the accent gradually moved to the word LAUGH. Together with the four titles above, it comprised "The Big 5" of MLJ and now will combine to give the world the ultimate Archie super-heroes, PUREHEART'S EMERGENCY PATROL!"

This is a very exciting launch for Archie Comics that represents both the company's heritage and the company's future. This project will have many twists, turns and surprises, demonstrating why Archie Comics are Cooler than Ever!
