Bbt This spring, the world of Archie Comics was rocked by the publication of BETTY & VERONICA DOUBLE DIGEST #151, featuring the first installment of “Bad Boy Trouble,” an epic tale spanning four issues that found Riverdale’s favorite teens rendered in a realistic style! Not since the comic book adaptation of the TV-movie, ARCHIE: TO RIVERDALE AND BACK AGAIN, has the gang looked so real you could touch them!

When news of this ground-breaking story broke, it caused quite a stir… imagine, Riverdale's teens with a whole new look! The news of Archie Comics’ flagship characters getting an extreme makeover caused a deafening buzz. From TV news reports to newspaper stories, magazine articles and internet blogs, everyone weighed in with their opinions on the change. The excitement reached a fever pitch at this year’s second annual blockbuster New York City Comic-Con, where both fans and media alike swarmed the Archie Comics booth, hoping to learn more about this major event!

The “new look,” while it inspired months and months of debate over and media coverage surrounding Betty and Veronica’s new looks, was only half the story. The other factor that caused great excitement and anticipation was the intriguing story that brought a new “edge” to Riverdale. When Nick St. Clair rides into Riverdale on his motorcycle, Veronica is smitten. She likes Nick's air of assurance and his knack for getting noticed.  The only problem, is Nick gets noticed for all the wrong things!  Nick quickly alienates all of Ronnie's friends, especially Betty.  Is this handsome rebel the boy of Veronica's dreams, or just plain trouble?  Will Betty and Veronica's friendship come to an end over the new boy in town?

Now, all four installments of this heralded tale from BETTY & VERONICA DOUBLE DIGEST issues #151 through #154 are available in one convenient, affordable edition.  The special 5 x 7 & ½ inch format contains 112 full-color, thrill-packed pages, with a low cover price of only $7.49 US! Whether reading it again or discovering it for the first time, don’t miss the most talked about Archie story of the year!

"where is this available? Where I live we don't have comic shops, so can i order it anywhere?"

Fans are telling us they can't find the comics. The Graphic Novel will be in comic shops and BOOK STORES. You can find in on Amazon.com and every book store.

I think that Archie comics are great. Everybody in my class makes fun of me because I like to read them but when I read them I feel like I'm in another world. One where nobody can find me and I'm just a comic. I know it sounds like I'm obbsessed but when you're as busy as me and you just need to relax, Archie comics help me forget about my problems and let my mind wander.

I looked on amazon.com, but it is not there! Is it on sale yet? It's not in the stuff shop.

Julianna "I looked on amazon.com, but it is not there! Is it on sale yet? It's not in the stuff shop."

BETTY & VERONICA: BAD BOY TROUBLE, ships 9/12 so look again in mid September and it will be on Amazon and in the Stuff Shop

Even with the new art style the characters are still just as unrealistic and one dimensional as before. I don't know about you guys, but I've never seen a teenager that looks like the gang does here. I don't know if you guys were aware, but most teenage girls don't dress like eight year olds. Then again, I am genuis or what right Gottapename?

i love archies new look!!espesiallybetty and midges!i just wonder what nick st. clair would look like without the new look?i think he would look ugly.

I love the new more realistic updated look and art and story on the Betty & Veronica, and I would be interested in a special hardcover book edition of this stuff once enough material is available, the hardcover could be a medium size between regular north American comics and those digest, something like 8 inch tall max

PS: Just the new makeover stuff, which I suspect might not please all unanimously, but still please lots of folks, and could seriously make more new fans. Also in a similar way, maybe a complementary Archie Archives volume 1 (1940's hardcover) same medium size if possible

THE NEW LOOK IS REALLY UGLY.
I LIKE THE REGULAR LOOK!

I think it's cool that readers can see characters in a different way, but I always want to keep the look the same as it usually is! okay?

I do not like the new drawings, of course, at my age (65) I have become use to the consistency of the group. I have been buying your mags since I was their age, so I am still old fashion.

My children and I have read issues 152 and 153 of Betty and Veronica Double Digest and hope you will allow us to share our thoughts.

We've enjoyed the "new look". We like the detail, especially in the shading and attention paid to backgrounds. We missed the first issue but the second one was so good we couldn't wait for the third to come out. The art work again, was amazing, but there are some flaws with the third story.

We agree that while Betty would feel pressured to give in to her best friend and let Veronica stay at her house to date Nick, we don't think Betty would have sat beside Nick on the couch after all his previous attempts to "come on" to her. She's just not that stupid! It's a sure thing he'd try again. Why make it easy for him? She could have sat in a chair. We don't think she'd give Nick such a clear opportunity.

We also feel the date was handled too briskly. We don't really know what happened between Nick and Veronica except that he gave her a big kiss goodnight. While it's good to leave something to the imagination, we were surprised that THIRTEEN PAGES were devoted to BOXING! It didn't need to be that long. It shows Nick is a poor sport but the reader already knows that about him. Archie had been practising boxing and was bound to win. It shows Archie has compassion when he reaches out to Nick and invites him to join the boxing team but this could have been accomplished with fewer pages. Why not spend some pages showing us why Nick is the way he is? Perhaps issue four will explore this, we hope so. Four issues might not be enough to learn about Nick's past but it would be more realistic to show some of this.

We love the covers, they build suspense. We love how each character looks...the little goatee on Jughead, Midge's sassy hairdo, and a sweetness in Moose that reveals his soft side. Even Dilton is drawn to show gentleness!

Overall we loved the concept of the story and the tremendous amount of work that went into it. We just think it oculd be even better. Originally we were skeptical about the idea of changing anything about the Archie gang. So thanks to all your staff for a very entertaining group of stories!

i love archie. and harry potter.
