Did you Vote Yet?

JugGood to see so many ME’s in the contest. (That really irked Reggie.)

Wow! You guys came up with some amazing costumes! Way more creative than mine… and I really liked the CAT! The polls are open so, as they say, VOTE NOW and VOTE OFTEN!

Dilton, You’re THE MAN!

jug You should have seen the look on Reggie’s face when Dilton “appeared” after Ron’s party Halloween night. Old Reg is STILL trying to figure out how Dilton did it! I was laughing so hard I had a hard time eating all the gourmet food Gaston prepared. Incredible, huh.

I’ve NEVER seen Reggie this perplexed. It’s good for him.

archie… for throwing the Best Halloween Party Ever! Wow, has it been busy! Seems like all of Riverdale has been going at warp speed for the past couple of weeks –it’s been SO busy, that I’ve hardly had time to catch my breath since Halloween. I just wanted to say, THANKS AGAIN, RONNIE!!! I had a blast… Dilton was way too Cool!!! I can’t believe Ronnie was able to keep it all a secret. That would have been hard to do. Gotta go, Gang… Homework.

You all know about that.

I’ve Got Your Project, Betty!

So, yesterday after school I went by Pop’s to get my daily burger. Know what he was doing? Ordering turkeys. Lots of ‘em. Pop’s is closed for Thanksgiving, so that didn’t make sense to me. So I asked him, “What are you gonna do with all those turkeys, Pop?”

This is what he said, “Well Jug, I’m cooking Thanksgiving Dinner for the Riverdale’s Retirement Village.”

Naturally, I thought of Betty; we talked at lunch about volunteering to do SOMETHING this Thanksgiving. So I said, “Need any help?”

Pop smiled. “Do I EVER!”

So, now we have our Special Thanksgiving Project – we’re gonna be cooking and serving dinner at Riverdale’s Retirement Village. Betty’s really excited about it. So is Ron. And Arch. I haven’t talked to Reg yet, but he’s cool – he’ll do it. Oh, and I talked to Gaston and my Gourmet Cooking Class and they’re in too.

This going to be a fantastic Thanksgiving!!!!

Way to go, Mr. Lodge!

jugThis is so cool. Ronnie’s Dad is going to donate all the food we’ll need for the Big Thanksgiving Dinner that Pop is organizing for Riverdale’s Retirement Village.

THANKS MR. LODGE, YOU’RE THE BEST!!!!!!!

Getting Ready for T-Day

archie Wow, I can’t believe Thanksgiving is in 9 days! I’ve got a ton of stuff to do! Not only am I helping with the Big Turkey Day Dinner, I am putting together music for the dance afterwards. Yes, now there’s gonna be a dance. I hope I get to serve turkey, but I’m fine with whatever Pop needs me to do.

Oh, and then there’s school - can’t forget that. I think Professor Flootsnoot is going to “surprise” us with a test tomorrow.

And I’m still reading entries for Week 20.

This is all so cool!!!

So, how’s YOUR week shaping up?

Cooking for Thanksgiving Day

jug This is going to be the best Thanksgiving ever!

Pop is doing all the main cooking… Turkey, Ham, & Roast Beef.

Gaston is baking pies… Apple, Peach, Cherry, Pecan, Custard, Banana Cream, Coconut Cream, and PUMPKIN!!!

Gaston and my teacher are making appetizers… Deviled Eggs, Basil Garlic Bread, Stuffed Mushrooms, and Thanksgiving Nachos.

AND my class and I are doing all the side dishes… Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Sweet Potatoes, Green bean Casserole, Corn on the Cob, Rolls, plus…

Am I forgetting anything?

What a Day

Is T-Day Early?

archieI’m having a little trouble pulling the gang together for band practice this week. They’re all real busy with Thanksgiving stuff. Is it me or does it feel like Thanksgiving Day is earlier this year? It sure seems like “BAM” T-Day is almost here!

Not that I’m complaining or anything. I love Thanksgiving. But it does seem to take a lot of work – mostly involving food. Turkeys are hard to cook – they’re not simple like hamburgers. My mom has been looking 2 whole days for the roasting pan she cooks our turkey in. She can’t find it; she thinks she loaned it to my aunt, who cooked the Andrews family turkey last year.

I told her not to sweat it – she and dad can come to the Retirement Village and help with THAT dinner. You know what? I think they’re gonna do it!

Looks like the whole Andrews family is starting a NEW tradition this year.

Dilton’s the Man

Dilton and I talked in Chemistry today. He told me not to worry about washing the dishes for the Thanksgiving Dinner.

He is bringing one of his new inventions. It will not only wash all the dirty dishes, it will clean most of the kitchen, too.

What a guy!!!

Too FUN!

archieHey guys!

Betty asked me to remind you to visit the Thanksgiving Page today. I think there are some more new messages there. She was going to mention it on her blog, but I think she forgot and now she’s running errands.

Everyone’s coming over here for rehearsal in a little while, so if you see Betty, tell her I reminded you. That’ll make her happy.

Later,

All the Moving!

ArchieToday is the quietest day I will have this week. I already know that. You know why? Because Thursday is TURKEY DAY!!!

Good thing we only have a half day of school on Wednesday. That day Moose and I are helping Jughead gather up extra folding tables and chairs from the school and three of the churches for the T-Day Dinner at the Retirement Village.

I still have to help Dilton move his high-tech dishwasher, and THEN get all the band equipment moved and setup. Whew!

Then Thanksgiving morning I’ll be helping shuttle all our guests. I’m not complaining though; it’s gonna be a blast!

So, do any of YOU get stuck doing “moving duty” like me, for your Thanksgiving dinner?

Just Curious

Happy Thanksgiving

This is our plan for a “perfect” Thanksgiving.

  1. Eat turkey, mashed potatoes, etc. (Jug says cover everything in gravy.)

  2. Do not waste time eating salad – it takes up valuable turkey space.

  3. Eat dessert.

  4. Take a nap.

  5. Repeat.

We are celebrating Thanksgiving with the whole gang at the Riverdale Retirement Village today. We’ll let you know how it went tomorrow.

Until then, we hope YOU have the BEST Thanksgiving EVER!

Arch & Jug

It’s Almost Time

I think we’re ready. Everything is done (I think). I just hope all goes well and everyone has a good time tomorrow. This is gonna be great - it’s like half the town is working the dinner, and the other half will be eating it. Pop Tate is so cool.

Wish us luck, Bloggy Buddies!!!

Oh Yes… I wish you all a GREAT THANKSGIVING!!!!

I’m Beat

Thanksgiving was a BLAST!!!! Everyone pulled together and the T-Day Dinner and Dance was the Best Thing I’ve ever been a part of.

Some of the retired folks are widowed, some have families that live hundreds of miles away and could not be with them, and some are just lonely. The dinner and dance was just the thing to chase away loneliness (and hungriness!)

A very good time was had by all. Hats off to Pop Tate, Gaston, Juggy and his Gourmet Cooking Class. THE FOOD WAS UNSURPASSED!!! (That means better than great, but that sounded awkward.)

Once again - Reggie surprised us all. We KNOW he can sing, but who knew he had “people skills?” He really had everything in the dining room well organized, plus he was the perfect charmer. All the guests just loved him. ( :O this is me looking surprised.)

When we were on the stage, the ladies kept chanting, Reggie, Reggie! It was funny. I think they’re forming a fan club.

The hardest part of Thanksgiving was tearing down all the tables and band gear after it was over. I’m beat. Think I’ll take a nap…

Did you have any Thanksgiving surprises?

And The Winner Is…

Archie Hi, talented authors!

A couple of weeks ago, I was chosen to judge Week 20’s Story submissions for A Halloween Tale. There were dozens of entries, and I had fun reading them all.

Betty and Ron told me this one begins our 3rd quarter of competition; that’s incredible! The story I chose was very unique and – in my humble opinion – a perfect choice for Halloween. Who did I pick? I’ll tell you:

Great story, kathi!

I love the way you made Sabrina a REAL witch! I never would have thought of that. Too funny!

Thanks to everyone who entered. I hope I get to judge another Story contest again SOON!

We Did It.

JugheadSorry I haven’t posted in a few days, but it was as much work cleaning up and taking everything back after Thanksgiving Dinner, as it was setting up. And I thought Thanksgiving was supposed to be a HOLIDAY! Silly me.

Dilton’s dishwasher worked great… for a little while. Then the computer core on the thing had a melt down, and Dilton had to do most of the dishes by hand. Poor guy – a bunch people volunteered to help him though.

Outside of that there were no other problems.

Thanks Everyone

Jug

Oh, I almost forgot.....

Dilton gave Patty a new game! Check it out here

Don't forget, if you sign up on the Highscore Board to ONLY use your first name OR your bloggy name!

Someone also sent in a game featuring ME! Patty put it on the Photo Blog!

It’s the Most Dangerous Time of the Year

ArchieI know, that’s NOT the way that song goes, but for me it’s true. Between now and the end of February, I have 2 opportunities to make Betty and Veronica SO mad, they may not talk to me the rest of the year.

You guessed it – I’m talking about gifts. Christmas is still a whole month away and I’m already stressed about that to get them!!!

I don’t have this trouble with any of my other friends. Jughead is easy; I just get him something edible. Reg USED to be tough; I had trouble picking something for him UNTIL The Reg himself suggested I let Veronica pick his gift. So, now that’s what I do.

But the girls are different. I struggle with what to get them every year. And if I make it through Christmas, I know I’ll probably mess up at Valentine’s Day, so it’s a no-win situation for me.

THIS year, I was hoping you might help me. If you could send me some gift suggestions for Betty and Veronica, I would REALLY appreciate it.

THANK YOU in advance,

Archie

Not Again!

Jug My little buddy, Arch is up to his eyeballs in trouble and he doesn’t even know it. This could very well be his last Christmas in Riverdale. What’s wrong? I’ll tell you. Archie is getting ready to buy Christmas gifts for Betty and Veronica.

Over the years, I’ve seen him struggle with this. But this year seems to be a particularly bad year for him.

I think he has a severe case of “gift idea block” – it’s like writer’s block, (when you can’t think of a thing to write.) He has a gift list started – I saw it - but it’s not very good. Actually, it’s lame. Under Veronica’s name he wrote – socks. Under Betty’s name he has – ice scraper. You can see where this is going. If he actually gives them those things, they’ll run him out of town. Forever.

Just thought I’d let you know what’s going on here. Maybe you can give him a little help. I know I would certainly appreciate it.

Cool Ideas!

ArchieThanks for all the GREAT gift suggestions; I’m feeling better about Christmas already! I stumbled across some catalogs today that just MIGHT have perfect gifts for Betty & Veronica.

One sells automotive supplies. The other sells cheese – decorated for Christmas! Wow! I’d better not let Jug see this one. I’m gonna look through these tonight. I’ll let you know if I find anything cool.

Keep those suggestions coming!

Your Pal,

Archie

I Knew It!!!

Archie's BlogSo what you all are telling me is, that socks and ice scrapers are bad ideas. And cheese. And car parts too.

See, I knew that. I just knew it. Not that they are bad gift ideas…

I just knew everyone else would think they’re bad ideas… which means the girls would think so, too.

If it wasn’t for school I would leave town till February 15th. It would really make things a whole lot easier for me.
