I just wanted to know if you’ve dropped by the new Blog for Fan Art that Patty built with my friend Chuck Clayton. I know some of you have found it because you’ve already sent in some awesome artwork!

Well, I posed for some videos featured on that new blog, so check those out too. AC artists Fernando Ruiz, Bob Smith and Tito Pena show you – in detail – how to draw ME! I think they should have chosen Betty for this project – she’s much more photogenic – but she was busy.

Ronnie called me in kind of a panic and wants to take me shopping with her today. I told her I was not really up to a shopping trip with her (been there, done that). But she insisted. She said it was very important and that Chuck had to go with us.

I guess I’ll go find out what’s up.

 Jug here with a newsflash -

Ronnie called and asked if I would like to be in charge of food and help Gaston cook on a camping trip. I get to help pick the main course for each meal and work with Gaston to get it all ready. THEN I GET TO EAT IT!!! This is like a Juggy Dream come true.

I’ve never been able to buy more goodies, fun food, awesome snacks, and connoisseur cuisine, then I did with Gaston while getting all the stuff for this camping trip.

BEST PART… outside of test-eating everything Gaston prepares, I get to RIDE in a Luxury air-conditioned SUV while all the others have to paddle their way to the next meal.

Dilton sets up camp with all his push button gadgets, Gaston cooks and cleans, while I get to sit back and relax.. and taste all the great food.

She shared with me that she thought she has been a tad too self absorbed lately and wanted to make it up to everyone especially Betty.

 Jug here from Campsite #2

Many of you may not know this, but usually I’m not a big fan of camping. Too many bugs, not enough good food, and way too much hard work.

But this is a Jughead camping trip dream. You wanna know what Gaston made for dinner tonight? Check this out:

• Appetizer: Smoked Fish Plate – salmon and trout with dill crème fraiche, capers and potato pancakes

• Salad: Watercress with toasted barley and balsamic marinated strawberries with strawberry peppercorn vinaigrette

• Entrée: Smoked Prime Rib with Squash Casserole

• Dessert: Gaston’s Seven Layer Chocolate Dream Cake

I could do this for the rest of the summer.

  Hi campers!

This is blast… Ronnie got all the camping gear and rented us all new kayaks. She did buy matching ones for her and Betty. Oh yeah, and Chuck brought his own.

Our days start with an awesome breakfast prepared by Gaston; yesterday we had fancy pancakes. I don’t know what we’re having tomorrow. We then all hit the river. Well not all of us. Jug, Dilton and Gaston pack up camp and meet us at the next stop. They’re driving this huge SUV pulling a portable gourmet kitchen.

We run the river half the day and we then meet up with Jug, Dilton and Gaston for a fantastic lunch.

After lunch it’s back to the water til evening. Then we put in for a night of camping, eating, music, and fun. Jug, Dilton and Gaston have the camp site all set up. Thanks to Dilton and the state of the art camping gear, we have it all. Hot and cold running showers, satellite TV, satellite radio, satellite phone (cell phones can’t get reception out here), satellite computers, and just about anything else we could want.

Of course, at bed time it’s boys tents on one side of camp and girls on the other with Gaston in between.

I forgot to tell you – the second day out, Betty came up and gave me a big hug. She told she knew the talent contest was not a B & V thing. She said she knew I just wanted to get the band back together and she was sorry for being mad at me.

Wow!!! I finely got understood.

This is kind of sad for me. It’s our last night out. In the morning after breakfast we’re not heading to the next camp sight because a big rain storm is due here tomorrow. We’re heading home and I guess we start getting ready for school.

This has been a great way to end summer vacation.

We’re back (yawn)

The trip was a blast but it’s good to be home. After all that hard labor I need to work in a few naps before school starts.

It has been a wild summer, so I’m thinking school may be just the ticket to quiet things down around here.

The only wild cards I can see are the trio from Bad Boy Trouble: Nick the Stick-in-the-Mud and the faux Ron and Betts. With everything else that has been going on, we haven’t heard much from those three lately.

Well, we’re all home now. What a trip. I can’t ever remember having so much fun. The best part was being with all my friends. I have to say Ronnie out did herself. She was humble the whole trip; not once did she take credit for anything! All she did was praise everyone else for all the help and for making it the best camping trip she was ever on. (Between you and me, I think it has been the ONLY camping trip she has ever been on.) J

I’m going over to see Reg today. After what Ronnie has done and the talk Betty and I had, I thought I would go over and congratulate him personally for winning the talent contest. I want him to know I have no hard feelings about him doing a solo and not helping with the band.

I know he can be a real pain in the neck, but, my gosh! - we’ve grown up together and he IS one of my best friends.

Stopped by Reggie’s house yesterday and no one was home. I think his parents are still in Europe. I’m pretty sure they were going to be gone over a month.

Reggie’s car was gone so I guess he has a meeting with an agent or something. I guess I’ll catch him later.

It would appear that Mr. Perfect - Reginald Mantle has flown the coup. No one has seen or heard from him since we all got back. I think the gang is forming a search party.

(Yawn) I say, “Why bother?” Nothing bad ever happens to guys like Reggie. They fall off a bridge and into a pot-of-gold.

They lose their car keys and go out and buy a whole new car.

Leave him alone and he’ll show up. I promise.

Hi guys.

If you guessed Reggie you were right.

There I was eating a burger and drinking a shake…the only one left in town because everyone else was out LOOKING FOR REGGIE!!!!

I was just taking the last slurp on my shake when in HE walks with a great tan and a giant smile. He told me what a grand time he had.

Reggie said he decided to ditch us when he ran into a group of girls kayaking down the same river. Said he spent the whole weekend kayaking with them - after all, there were no other guys and they needed someone to protect them out there in the wilderness.

Now, some of you thought what I said about Reggie was mean. Gang I, Jughead Jones, have not one mean bone in my body. I really do LOVE everyone (well almost everyone). But I am a realist and I’ve known Reggie a long time.

So, I’m sorry if some of you thought I was mean. I just knew not to fritter away my time looking for someone who (1) had not vanished and (2) was all right.

We called Jughead last night to tell him we’ve not found Reggie yet. Jughead then informed us that Mr. Mantle was not lost.

Get this: he is safe and sound back in Riverdale after spending a weekend kayaking with a group of girls, instead of catching up with us like his blog had said!

We all should have listened to Jughead. I have to say the guy is usually right on.

I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to be in Reg’s shoes when B & V catch up with him (though I do I hope I’m around to see it J)

Coach Clayton has me running ten miles a day. Cross Country starts the first week of school, so Coach has the team running already.

I’m not sure what it’s like in your town but here… IT’S HOT HOT HOT!!!

100 plus outside by noon!!!

And on top of all that, Coach wants me to get Jughead on the team! Yeah right… Just how am I supposed to do that?

I guess Coach Clayton doesn’t realize Jug is allergic to exercise. HELP!

I found out Archie (per Coach Clayton) is trying to get me to join the Cross Country Team.

I have only one question. WHY???!!!

I mean, I can run if I have to. Like, if I'm late for dinner… If I’m trying to get to Pop’s before he closes… Or, if that certain someone is chasing me.

Outside of that… No thanks. Besides I need to catch up on my rest before school starts.

Coach has me running twenty miles a week now and school is still nine days out. Thank goodness it’s cooled off some. I know it’s been in the 90’s but hey, that beats the 100’s of last week.

I finally got face to face with Jug (how long can your best friend dodge you?)

I found out some pretty cool things about our Number One Slacker, as he refers to himself from time to time. Anyway Jug doesn’t want to join the cross country team because he’s a slacker; just the opposite. He can’t join the team because he has other commitments.

Since the camp out, he has been going over to the Lodge’s twice a week and helping Gaston. He gets free culinary lessons and Gaston gets free help. I guess they’ve built a pretty good relationship.

Then early Wednesday mornings (way before school starts) Juggy helps Pop Tate unload Pop’s weekly truck of restaurant supplies and helps put them all away. I guess he’s been doing this since the eating contest at the fair.

So while most people think of him as lazy, we all know now that Jug is just a GREAT GUY… but then, we’ve known that for a long time.

 Actually, I found him.

I figured there is nothing worth hiding from your best friend for. As I thought, he tried talking me into joining the cross country team. But I told him that running cross country was not my thing.

We chatted for a long time and he understood. Arch is not as dense as some think (well about girls he is).

Anyway Archie will talk to Coach Clayton and I can get ready for school with that off my shoulders.

It seems all I have time for is RUNNING and getting ready for school. I’m so glad the weather has cooled off some.

Now the good news is Betty is running with me. She has made the girls’ cross country team. THAT’S WAY COOL!!!

Yesterday, while we were running, I did tell her that I was sorry for the whole Riverdale fair singing fiasco. Betty told me all was forgiven.

It was a great run.

Me again,

There has been way too much stuff going on for me. It all makes me just a little uncomfortable.

Reggie is showing his new car off all over town.

Arch and Betty are running morning, noon and night.

Veronica is shopping more than the average 10 people could (she has a gift for it.)

And the rest of the gang is scrambling around trying to get all their stuff ready for school.

Yawn!!! I think I’ll take a nap.

Yesterday while Betty and I were running, she mentioned the “Back to School Dance.”

It’s a casual dance with a rock band, sounds awesome. It’s in a couple weeks. (I wonder if Ronnie knows about it, I’ll have to ask her and see.)

Anyway school starts next week and I think I’m about ready.

My buddy Archie is about to take a long dive off the short end of the pool. Archie asked me this morning if I heard about the “Back to School Dance.”

Told him, “Nope not a thing and I like it that away.”

Archie said Betty told him about it while they were running the other day.

He then said he was going to check with Ronnie to see if anyone has asked her yet.

I told him he was better off leaving town that night. It would save him a lot of grief. He just looked at me kind of funny and gave me that blank smile of his.

Will he ever learn?
