Hi! Arch & Jug here!

ArchieThis is a test post, just to see if this blog is working. Patty, you can delete it if you want. I just want to say “Hi.” Archie here. Jughead and I are coming to you live from the computer in my room. Jug and I have a lot to say about things going on in Riverdale, so, I hope you will stop by often. We’ll talk about cars. And movies. And sports. And, since I seem to get in hot water a lot with 2 girls whose initials are B & V, sometimes we’ll talk about girls, too. Maybe we’ll even figure them out…

Jughead is shaking his head NO. That concludes this test post…

Archie. My turn. Jughead here with what you WON’T find on our new blog. Recipes. (But we WILL talk about FOOD.) Beauty tips. Fashion trends. Diets. Hairstyles. Our blog will cover important stuff… as determined by us. Jughead, signing off. How was that, Patty?

We've FINALLY done it!!

archieJughead and I are blogging. I wasn't sure I was going to. Betty and Veronica have been blogging a while, and for a very good reason – that dumb Makeover. (I'll have something to say about that in a minute.) At first, I didn't want to blog because my spelling is terrible. That's why Jughead and I are blogging together. Jughead is a GREAT speller but he gets a little lost around the internet.

Jughead says I'm not the only bad speller on the planet. He says lots of people have trouble spelling, doing math, etc. If he's right, let me know.

Now, back to the Makeover: I haven't weighed in on it much – mostly because Betty and Veronica were doing a great job on their own. I THOUGHT Betty and Veronica were the only Riverdale residents getting re-drawn. THEN I saw Betty & Veronica Digest #152. It's not just Betty & Veronica. We're ALL in it!!!

I guess what upsets me most is that nobody at AC Headquarters said a word about a makeover to me. Or Jughead. Or ANYBODY in Riverdale. They just did it! That's pretty cold.

AC Website has a preview of issue #152, if you want to see it. I'd like your opinion, if you don't mind, on "the new me.”

Your friend,

Archie.

P.S. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi! Jughead here!

JugheadJughead here. I read Archie's post – looking for spelling mistakes mostly – and he's right. Nobody at Corporate asked anyone in Riverdale for their input before they turned Steven Butler loose with a box of pencils. As for MY new looks? I can let that slide. I've never been caught up in my looks, unlike a certain raven haired friend – and no, I don't mean Veronica – I was talking about Reggie.

The worst thing they could do to me is take away my hat – and I don't think THAT's gonna happen! All those years of running away from Ethel have made me pretty fast.

Arch and I were at Corporate the other day and one of The Suits said they were thinking of making me "vegan." I said, "No thanks, I already go to church with my Mom and Dad." The Suit laughed. THEN he told me that what vegan means – they DON'T EAT MEAT!!! Incredible! No offense to you vegans out there, but I AIN'T one!!! I mean, how could I live on just pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and onions? Okay, I guess fries are veggies, too, but I gotta have a burger… chicken… a fish every now and then!

Bottom line: If there's no meat on my bun, I ain't eating it.

My thoughts,

I Could Use A Little Help

ArchieHi Gang,

First, I want to say thanx for all the great comments in support of the REAL ME!!!

Hey, Betty’s birthday is coming up June 29th. I was hoping you all could help me find her the perfect gift. I got the feeling Veronica was not totally happy with her last birthday gift from me (but I did get a cool balloon ride.) You know, I really thought those license plate frames would look great on her car.

And this morning I noticed that the workout DVD I got my Dad – One Hundred and One of the Best Dance Workouts – was still on the TV unopened. I think sometimes I’m a bit too practical when it comes to choosing gifts. So any help would be apreceated appreciated (saved by Jug)

Weighin' In On #152

JugheadHi, it’s me.

I want to thank all you out there for standing up for me and my burgers. I really dig all the comments… WAY TOO COOL!!!

I did happen to see an issue of “Bad Bum P.2”. I have one thing to say:

I know how to shave!

Oh yeah, Nick St. Clair is a bully and a thief and has no business in Riverdale. Okay, that’s like 3 things, but who’s counting.

About Driving With Ethel

Archie

Archie here. Hey, thanks for the great birthday ideas. Keep ‘em coming.

By the way, I read the Story Starter called Driving With Ethel over on Ron’s blog. You know, I love all three of the girls. But there is NO WAY I would let them borrow my car to teach Ethel to drive.

Besides, I’m not so sure Ronnie’s any better than Ethel. (Please don’t tell Ron I said that.) Now Betty, she may be the best driver in Riverdale High and could probably teach Drivers ED. (You can tell Betty I said that.) But, there is still no way I’d let them use my car.

Your friend,

Archie

I Think I Know Veronica Pretty Well

ArchieI don’t want to be mean here, but I’ve read B&V Digest #152 and there is NO WAY Ronnie would fall for a jerk like the Nickster. I should know. I think in all of comic history, not one guy has chased one girl so much as I’ve chased Veronica. Your Friend, Archie

I Have A Plan!

archieHi Gang,

I would like to thank you all very much for the great ideas and suggestions you sent me for Betty’s B-Day. After reading every comment carefully, I now know what I’m doing for her.

I wish I could share it with you but she’ll find out if I do, because people read this blog, you know. So, you will have to wait for her birthday… just like Betty.

Thanks Again

Archie

JugheadJug Here –

Well, I guess you’ve heard Archie has everything taken care of for Betty’s big day. What’s he doing? Guys, he hasn’t told me a thing. I sure hope he gets this one right… but you all know Arch.

So, will he do good? Or will he blow it? Let me know what you think.

Thanks

My Favorite Part Of Summer

Jughead

Jughead Here.

Summer is one of my four favorite seasons of the year.

You know why? Grilling Out!

There is nothing finer then the smell of a burger sizzling on the grill. Except eating it. A little garlic salt, a dash of onion seasoning, then flame that burger up! I know Betty likes grilled chicken, but she doesn’t turn her nose up at one of my burgers. This is a little known fact, but outside of Pop Tate and maybe Betty, I’m probably the best outdoor cook in Riverdale.

Like I said, Betty loves grilled chicken. Now Archie, he’s a bratwurst man with just enough hot mustard to make it bite back. And Ronnie? Well she’s the hardest to cook for. She likes veggies cooked in a tinfoil bag - corn on the cob, new potatoes, bell peppers, stuff like that. I’m a big fan of corn on the cob myself, but with everything cooking in that tinfoil you never know when it’s done. Reggie will only eat steak and it has to be a T-bone, medium rare with a touch of barbeque sauce.

So, I’m thinking of having a cookout for the Archie gang at Riverdale Park on the Fourth of July. It will be BYOF (bring your own food) but I’ll do all the cooking. Pop Tate’s is closed that day; I know Pop would love to have someone else do the cooking for a change.

I’m going to need some help though. That’s where you all come in. Tell me:

  1. What’s your favorite food for the grill, and

  2. How do you like it cooked?

Bring those suggestions on and I’ll throw one of the best cookouts Riverdale has ever seen.

Thanks Ahead of Time for the Help.

A Little Cycling Lingo

 Archie

Hi Gang

I just heard Jughead is having a COOKOUT on the Fourth of July. WOW --that’s great! He told me he didn’t need any help so I’m going to organize an in-town bike ride that morning. We’ll do a tour of Riverdale and end up at the Park for Jug’s cookout.

I ride a mountain bike that I’ve “urbanized out”- a little cycling lingo for you ;-) It has oversized street tires and disk brakes for those fast traffic stops. Riverdale has a few potholes and bumpy streets so my bike is way better than say, a street bike, which is what Reggie rides.

Yeah, The Reg rides, too. Man, does he ever! I’m telling you, when he comes flying by in that red shirt and tight biking shorts you would think he’s gearing up for the Tour De France! Don’t tell anyone I said this, but he’s a really great rider. Betty has a full blown off-road carbon frame mountain bike that she’s won several races on. She’s a hot rider, too. I heard Ronnie is getting a bike, not sure what though, except you can bet it will be very expensive.

Jug rides a comfort bike. Imagine that - Ha Ha! The bike you have to see though is Dilton’s! It’s called a recumbent; it looks like my Dad’s recliner and a bicycle had a wreck… and it’s what’s left.

Hey, if YOU ride, I’d love to know what kind of bike you have, and what kind of riding you like to do. LET ME KNOW!!!

What Did I Do?

Hi Everybody

ArchieWell, I blew it again and I’m not even sure why! All I can to say is Betty was crying and Ronnie is mad at me.

I don’t think I’ll ever figure girls out… at least not those two.

Your Bummed Out Buddy

Arch

Poor Arch

I’ve got to find Archie and talk to him. The poor guy thinks he really messed up Betty's Birthday - but he didn’t. This is what happened. Archie got Betty… ah… this is gonna take forever. Just go on over to Betty’s Blog and find out what happened. Archie did a great job, he just doesn’t know it.

Sometimes my best friend is sure dense.

If you happen to see Archie let him know I’m looking for him.

Thanks

Jug
